I'm still working on some deals to get my Heralds deck up to snuff, but I figured I might as well ask for some advice on building other decks. In this case, I want to build a mean, 60-card Doom deck, because Doom is fun. AND DOOM DEMANDS THAT WHICH IS HIS DUE! If that accursed Richards has a deck, then DOOM's must surpass it in every respect! Bring on the strategies! If you are lucky, Doom will even spare you after you have rendered your services to him. |

I would definitely run Divinity over Klaw and 4 drop Doom in a Doomed Earth deck. Incidentally this is definitely my favorite Doom deck as well. Here's a link to the decklist that came in second at PC Indy: http://vs.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?ID=13819 It ran smoother than the versions I had come up with, but don't be afraid to make it your own. As long as you have tons of Moloids and Doomed Earth you're on the right track. I won several Hobby League events with a build of this deck that was way worse than the list I linked you to. And assuming you want to make this deck Golden (which it is unless your playgroup is using the council rules with relegate MEV to Golden so MHG ends up in Silver) you can replace some cards like Big Leagues and SKREEE with better cards like Megablast and No Man. |

Divinity is awesome and you also need a few copies of Ultron ¤ Ultron 11, Army on 5 and one copy of Dr. Doom, Sorcerous Savant on 6 (deck does not go any higher!!), with pleanty of pumps Savage beats, blinding rage, Unthinkable (works awesome in this deck) Doomed earth and Devil's Due are my 2 Favourite decks of all time ! |

Clash doom is probably most potent. Doom can team with anything thats weak on 4. and strengthen it to the max. |

Clash doom is a deck that uses Clash of Worlds or Crisis on Infinite Earths to get out multiple Dr. Dooms. It is considered to be one of the best decks VS System has to offer. Here is the list made by the community in the thread Golden Age King: // Lands 1 [DJL] Slaughter Swamp {DJL} 3 [MOR] Doomstadt {MOR} // Creatures 4 [EHB] Kate Corrigan - Folklore Consultant {EHB} 1 [MHG] Carnage - Symbiote Surfer {MHG} 4 [MVL] Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius {MVL} 4 [MHG] Dr. Doom - Richards’s Rival {MHG} 1 [MXM] Kristoff Von Doom-Pretender to the Throne {MXM} 2 [MHG] Silver Surfer - Skyrider of the Spaceways {MHG} 4 [MVL] Boris, Personal Servant of Dr. Doom {MVL} 1 [MHG] Human Torch - The Invisible Man {MHG} 1 [DCR] Jaime Reyes <> Blue Beetle - High-Tech Hero {DCR} 1 [MOR] Dr. Doom-Victor Von Doom {MOR} 2 [DCL] Lex Luthor, Metropolis Mogul {DCL} 1 [MEV] Mimic - Earth-12 * Infected {MEV} 1 [DJL] Aquaman, King of the Seven Seas {DJL} // Spells 3 [MVL] Savage Beatdown {MVL} 1 [MHG] Reality Gem - Infinity Gem {MHG} 1 [MUN] Death Of The Dream {MUN} 4 [MVL] Mystical Paralysis {MVL} 3 [MOR] Cover Fire {MOR} 3 [DCX] A Clash of Worlds {DCX} 1 [DJL] Crisis on Infinite Earths, Team-Up {DJL} 4 [MXM] Enemy Of My Enemy {MXM} 2 [MVL] Faces of Doom {MVL} 4 [MOR] Reign of Terror {MOR} 3 [MCG] Omnipotence {MCG} |

Thanks! Do you have any suggestions for replacements if I wanted to keep it to Doom-only characters? |

The thing is that Clash is going to be better with the non-Doom characters and without them probably wouldn't even be that great. Doom's dirty little secret is that, except for the build that is straight beats and revolves around Doomed Earth, he's not that good own his own. Clash Doom is built around the fact that 3 drop Doom is good, 4 drop Doom is really good and Reign of Terror and Mystical Paralysis are two of the best control cards in the game. Using that base you sprinkle in various characters from other teams with strong abilites that help you support Dr. Doom and lock your opponent out of the game. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes and you're done. It's really just a new take on the Evil Medical School and New School deck ideas. Start with Dr. Doom and add as much control as possible so your opponent can't do anything and doesn't want to play anymore. The best decks featuring Dr. Doom are either basic team-up decks that could use some plot twist tutoring/a better 4 drop or jumbles of lock down control cards. |

What about a Doomed Earth straight beatdown kind of thing? I could be willing to do the mix-up, but the thing is I really don't like DC, and I would rather have a mono-team deck if possible, or at least keep the DC characters out. Hm. Still. I am considering all options. |

And a bump here. I have a lot of fun playing my Doom deck, though it's not really complete at all. I'd like to keep it mono-Doom, except for a couple unaffiliated 0-drops in there to be KO fodder. I don't mind going beatdown or control or both; control decks are my favorite in Magic and in VS that's no different. What would be a good, efficient Doom build within those parameters? |

I've got a Crisis Doom deck that I really enjoy, let me dig it out and throw a list your way. It may not be as powerful as some of the stuff you've been seeing, but I think it may be closer to what you're asking for. |

I posted a link to one of the best lists for a straight Doom beatdown deck centered around Doomed Earth in one of my earlier posts. If your biggest parameter is that the deck be mono-Doom and be somewhat competitive that's probably the way to go. |

One of the things that always bothered me is that, back in the very beginning, the couple of boxes of MOR I opened didn't have any Dr. Doom-4 (I missed some other uncommons and had extremely few Wild Sentinels, among other things); I was completely unaware of his existence until I looked at online forums and everyone was raving about him and starting to build Common Enemy decks. Consequently NO ONE was interested in talking about (much less building around) who I thought was Doom's cost-4 MVP: Titania. Since then, I've figured that a Moloids deck around her could be worth considering. Naturally, you have a ton of Moloids and Mole Man-2 and Dr. Doom-3 (MHG), but then there's Titania-MOR and the Ongoing plot twist Devil's Due (MSM). Devil's Due can put counters on any Doom character, and Dr. Doom can grab it for you easily enough. You sack the Moloids to Devil's Due to stick a counter on Titania, which triggers her +1-for-the-turn ability on top of the +1/+1 from the counter. So a single use makes her a healthy 9/9. Find ways to spawn tons of Moloids and/or use the variety of other Army-spawning tricks with the other Army dudes available to Doom, then sack them to the Due and buff up Titania. I've tried to work out some variations where Titania could then benefit from the "solo" effects of X-Statix or solo-visible effects from Kang or Hellfire, but never quite got them to mesh well enough. They could've been impressive if they did (and I feel like the solo-visible stuff still has some potential if I could work it out better), but I'll leave that alone since it takes away from the mono-Doom style you're planning on. At any rate, I figure it could be possible for Titania to get pretty beefy with stats easily able to handle cost-5 characters, but that's where I run out of steam...I don't know if it's of enough interest for you to give it a try and work out a better endgame, but there you have it. |
