I thought it was good .. But the best i cnt agree with... The 1st and 2nd act of the movie was kinda cheesy and boring. The acting was ehhhh besides loki nd stark... The 3rd act was great action entertainment... I understand with action movies dnt expect depth, nd great script nd etc etc. but in talks to claim this is the best super hero film, then theres things the movie has to accomplish instead of only force feeding us explosions. Great popcorn movie hands down.. But not better than the dark knight The avengers B- |

Ultimately I can't fully agree with either opinions here, though I see truth in both. I can say that I loved it and was fully entertained. It's easy to put Dark Knight in the superhero genre, but DK is not a superhero movie in the classic sense. So I feel like it's not really fair to compare the two. Avengers was a "traditional" superhero movie and the best of the Marvel bunch for sure. I think Joss Whedon had a lot to do with that. I do agree with CapedCrusader on one thing - the first act was sort of slow for me. Though I accept that they had to build, and there is total payoff in the end. Ultimate, there were many, many laugh out loud moments for me - whether I was laughing from the humor or the awesomeness of a special effect. So I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. Rating: A- Spoiler: click to toggle

Omg people need to stop sucking on dark knight like its the holy grail of comic book movies. Dk only really had the joker that had the best parts of the whole movie. Heath ledger won the academy award not dk. As a movie as whole. Avengers is better then dk. I would fast forward to the joker scenes in dk where as in avengers. Illl watch it over and over again. The movie was like reading a comic book. It was a blast. Maybe that had to do with a well established comic writer directing the film ... |

@carlosthedwarf dont get me wrong avengers was good, but i think u can compare the two. TDK is a comic book in every sense, just of a darker tone. That would be like saying you cant compare in comic books example year one or the dark knight returns, or watchmen , or the man without fear because they broke away from the traditional comic standards and format. But all in all avengers was a great comic book action movie. But you have to atleast agree with me on this! Lol is it just me or has ever since disney took over marvel all there movies look the same i.e thor, cap, iron man 2, avengers, like the way its shot, lighting, script, its all extra kid friendly which im not fond of. I understand why cuz well its disney. But like look how disney era of marvel movies compared to say Xmen 2 which i loved, iron man which i loved, and spider man 2 which i loved. @blue666 smh i could go on about 8 pages about TDK and how i disagree with u and how its better then avengers. But im not. Your entitled to your opinion no matter of how delusional or hateful it is lol. I am going to say with all your hateful words directed at the holy grail that is the dark knight, u have just lost a potiential great friend :( and now made an astonishing enemy >=D lmao |

I must say it was one of the most enjoyable movie experiences for me. I thought the set up scenes worked well. The only element I felt could have used improvement is the villains behind Loki very non-plus don't know who they were don't care, guess they have an army of monsters cool next. The lead in felt llke comic book lead ins short concise entertaining and covering the tropes. RD JR. realy did carry the bulk of the acting duties but I felt the others realy played welll off of him, he made it easier for them to just punch in their lines and keep moving. It did seem like Samuel L phoned in a few of his scenes but he's almost become as much Fury as RDJr is Iron Man and he is no doubt in the role he was born and later drugged to play. It is getting harder to decide on best comic movie though.....YAY! I mean between, Watchman, Kick Ass, Unbreakable, DK, and a host of marvel movies there is actual a choice now YAY! YAY! To be alive in the Super-Hero Age. |

I've been a fan of everything Whedon (with Dollhouse being the only exception) since 2002 when I first stumbled upon Buffy. This movie did not disappoint. Spoiler: click to toggle

It was very good. We had to leave during the final credits though, I didn't get to see the shawarma post credits scene. But I did get to see the the Thanos scene, looks good. I was wondering though, is this for Avengers 2 or Thor 2? Seems the Infinity Gauntlet with all the gems, was last seen in Odin's vault in THOR. |

Late to the party... just saw it last weekend. Pretty good superhero movie along the lines of Iron Man (Favreau was a producer). It was a bit slow in parts and while the action and characterizations were great... there were some things that I had questions about: Spoiler: click to toggle While, physically, I think Chris Evans makes a good Cap, personality-wise he does not. The Cap is more of a leader and while they tried to do parts to show that he is... he just didn't seem that authoritative. Ruffalo was good as the Hulk... but now the Hulk has a perm. Reminded me of the Bill Bixby/Ferrigno Hulk (which supposedly was on purpose... with Ferrigno reportedly lending to the voice of the Hulk). So is Hawkeye/Black Widow supposed to be our Ant-Man/Wasp duo? |
