We all know VA used to have a strong vs scene. If anyone still plays let me know! I live in Richmond and have been getting that play again

Pptmaster & I still play regularly here in Norfolk, and he's taught his girlfriend and at least 3 others how to play, and I know of one other person who still plays occasionally.

We used to play at hobby league nights & tourneys at Groovy Gecko's in Williamsburg & with a little work we might be able to find some of those players.

We've been itching for a tourney for months. What did you have in mind?

Nothing in particular..i just would like to get some games in, I don't care what format, but in all honesty all the decks I have are old school golden age decks with a couple of the more recent cards splashed in..If we could get a tourney going that would be amazing. I live in Richmond and making a trip to SOVA wouldn't be a problem at all

We should organize a tourney in or around dc. I could probably talk 5-10 people in the Baltimore metro area to come to DC metro area to play.

That'd be great if there was a Vs. tourney or just a meet up to play in DC. I live in DC so I'm a little biased towards the chance to play with other Vs. players. There is a game shop called Labyrinth Games on Capitol Hill that offers tables in the back for gamers. I think there's a small fee to reserve a table but it shouldn't be much.

That would be great too! I know at least 4 people here that are still left from the old vs days...we are all getting that itch to play, we need to make this happen

Like TELBET said we definitely will support any VA area VS. If we indeed want to do it in D.C. We should start planning now so us Norfolk area players can set our schedules accordingly. P.S. i'd love to play an interesting format not just Golden/Silver/Modern.

This is exciting! Other than the standard formants what else is there(besides some form or sealed event) I stopped playing a good while back and the only decks I have are golden age..but that's just a speed bump not a stop sign..

Anywho, I have no problem traveling to SOVA or D.C. Whichever is easier for the majority, its kinda the same distance either way for me, any ideas for when we can make this happen?

I'll check with everyone on my end and see who's interested. In the mean time, how the second weekend in July (14/15) look for everyone? I have no problem organizing an event, I just don't have any kind of prize support.

As for formats, I could make a poll. We've played a few games of two-headed mutant lately, and it sure was fun. Maybe a side event for that, and we all love playing sealed/drafting.

I'm a big fan of sealed as well, I wasn't that good at it, but I always made up for it in constructed! Anywho, that date(s) works for me I'll round up who I can around here and see if they want to come out, I don't really care about prize support personally, I'm just down to play some games be it casual or in a formal tourney setting, this game was a big part of my life for a while and I met some of my best friends while playing, it will be good to get back to my competitive gaming roots

That sounds fun, but I'm wondering if a more centralized location might work for the first time, say in Richmond?

We might be able to get as many as six players to come up with us to a venue 90 minutes away, but two at best to D.C. at this time.

Also, that weekend doesn't work for us, but the following weekends through the 19th of August just might.

And, anyone from Williamsburg/Groovy Geckos still around? And how about you guys from N.C.? (KK?) Richmond's not that far away! [grin]

Richmond always works too, i think i could arrange having one of our local hobby shops to let us have an event, RVA still has a good TCG scene so having a place to play wont be a problem at all, and any weekend will work for me, just let me know what works for everyone else

Okay so yeah I def. won't be able to do the weekend that was suggested and i can say the same for 2 others from my play group for sure. Richmond does sound a lot better as it is settled pretty nicely between Norfolk and D.C. Is that possible for you D.C. guys? Also, BnB, can you find a store with tables to let us play in in Richmond?
