Fill me in on the rest spots....
Absolutely no problem, I'll insert you in the spots.

We have waited for your confirmation in the previous post for 3-4 days, so I have thought that you was not more interested.

Please contact your opponent to get in agreement for your game.

bye and enjoy

I've fixed the calendar, putting Neuro2k5 in; he'll play against Jayruss in the first round.

Tonight I'll play againts my opponent ThoThok, then I'll register the game result on the first message of this topic. Please do the same thing for your matches.

I just think people should play best of 3, like most tournaments. a single game match is too random.

it was a thinker of a game. We played only 1 game. I think you would have won if you got evens.

Great match.

Hi Neuro2k5,
as I said in previous post, I've no experience in tournament, for this reason I asked for your suggestions.

However, I totally agree with you: "best of 3" formula is better than "single match".

If we are all agreed on this, we can easily switch on "best of 3" formula.

Today I'll send a pm to my opponent to determine his availability.

Three things for VS tournaments. (Note, I was a UDE VS-system level 2 Judge, and Level 1 Tournament Organizer)

1) All matches are best of 3. The first match you roll die/flip a coin and the winner chooses the initiative. Next game, the loser chooses initiative. And if it goes to a third game, the loser of game 2 chooses initiative of the third game. The reason for best of 3 game matches, is that some decks need a specific initiative to run properly. In a 1-game match, if you miss the initiative you want, its an unfair advantage to the opponent.

2) Each game is between 45 min-1 hour depending on the organizer. You must have a time limit, because some stall decks will prevent you from reaching a win condition, and when time is called you must choose the winner based on initiative. (I can give more details here for what actually happens once time is called later)

3) Official UDE Tournaments did not allow people to change their decks between games or matches. (That is a MTG thing). For VS knowing and anticipating the metagame is huge, and with a sideboard, you can devastate an opponent if given the chance to change a deck. However if you want to do this in your tournament, feel free- it just isnt a standard thing.

Example - Lets say you find out your opponent is running heavy locations or ongoing plot twists. If your deck doesnt have a way to handle it, its too bad - it wasnt ready. These are called bad matchups. With a side-board you can then add Ka-boom or Foiled to your deck and destroy your opponent's strategy. this would give people with advanced knowledge of matchups an unfair advantage in upcoming matches. And in some cases destroy decks entirely.

Some decks win based on the surprise of some card interactions, and if you allow people to alter their decks, then people can plan for this surprise interaction, and completely negate a deck.

So for most tournaments, you submit a decklist prior to the first game, and at random times, your deck will be inspected to make sure you didnt alter the contents. In online tournaments this is a bit tricky, so we normally use the honor system hoping people dont change their decks.

I hope this helps.

Sure Neuro2k5, it helps a lot.
But I have a question: in this manner and without an official judge, are all the decklists public? Do we submit our decklists in this post?

Thanks.

In most Online tournaments the decklists are posted at the end, when the tournament is over.

There should be no public knowledge of people's decks until the tournament is completed.

If we had a TO that wasnt invoked in matches, we could have individually sent them our decklists (to keep as a record) but since there are no table judges watching matches, it doesnt do much in these games.
