Would DOR-149 Fast Getaway work when my opponent tries to attack me directly?

According to the DS game, MSM-022 Vulture dealing damage to the opponent while battling or attacking directly is consider breakthrough.

1) Characters attacking directly cause breakthrough

2) Fast Getaway stops breakthrough

3) That's why Fast Getaway has an additional cost compared to Burn Rubber. Reinforcement only helps if you still have someone to block; "no breakthrough" is effective even when your board is wide open.

Except I don't think you remember what Fast Getaway's text says:

Fast Getaway

As an additional cost to play Fast Getaway, discard a card from your hand.

Target attacker causes no breakthrough while attacking a character this turn.

You may want to take a closer look at Fast Getaway's text...

My standing policy is that anybody who doesn't quote card text gets a ruling based on whatever my brain tells me the card says. :)
