We were playing today and a ruling came up that we couldn't figure out. Jean Grey 5 drop says Jean Grey enters play with a +1/+1 counter for each Jean Grey card in your KO'd pile. Spider-man 5 drop says Discard a character card Target opposing character loses and can't have powers and keywords this turn. Use only once per turn. I know Spider-man can't negate payment powers that have already been payed but can he chain his effect early enough to stop Jean from getting any counters or would it be too late as she's already on the field? |

It would be too late. Jean Grey enters play with those counters, so there is really no powers to remove once she is in play. It goes like this: Jean Grey is recruited and added to the chain, but is still not a character, so Spider-Man does not have anything to target yet. Jean Grey comes into play with the counters. Spider-Man NOW has a character to target, but removing Jean Grey's power would be like removing the vanilla Black Panther's powers - pointless, as its essentially a blank text box now. :P Edited by AlphaSilvr, Aug 31 2012, 11:13 AM.
