I've been toying around with this idea, and I'd like to know if could work...

Decoy Program
Equipment
Unique. Equip only to an army doom character you control.
Equipped character loses all names and gains the name dr. Doom.

Ultron @ Ultron 11 - Army
Doom/Masters of Evil
Whenever Ultron is put into your ko'd pile from play, you may remove four other cards in your ko'd pile from the game. If you do, put Ultron from your ko'd pile into your front row at the start of the next phase.

When "Ultron" is put in the KO'd pile from play... it's name is Dr. Doom or Ultron? Does it's effect triggers?

Basically, I'd like to equip him, and when KO'd, put in play again...

If I'm not mistaken:
"Whenever Ultron...." is read like "Whenever this card...."
The name in a textbox refers to the card itself. So i'd say his effect goes off.

On top of that, if Ultron goes to the KO-pile, so does the equipment. So he isn't equiped anymore.
Same goes for as he is stunned the equipment becomes blank, and he's Ultron again.

Correct me where needed :)

Drstrange is correct.
Just for additional clarification, here is the ruling:

Quote:

201.7 Some modifiers can change the name of a card. When this happens, all references to that specific card by name in its powers are changed to use the new name. This does not change the name in wordings like "cards named <name>," as these are referring to any card named <name>, not to this specific card.
