Renderers, Magic

To play, exhaust a Shadowpact character you control.

Ongoing: Whenever you play a Magic plot twist, gain 1 endurance.

Question: Would Renderers trigger on itself, giving you 1 endurance for flipping it?

No.
Even though Ongoing is in effect immediately after a plot twist is flipped, it itself was already played and does not trigger.

Basically:

Flip (play) Renderers.
Ongoing is now in effect, BUT as Renderers has already been played, there is nothing to trigger off of yet.

I agree with Alpha and here is the associated rule.
From the CRD

304.10 The text after the word "ongoing" describes the plot twist's ongoing powers. These powers do not follow the rules of playing effects. If the plot twist was played from hand, these powers do not produce any modifiers; if the plot twist was played from the resource row, these powers become active as the plot twist becomes "played" (after all the steps of playing it are done, but before a player receives priority). (See 505.1e.)

Example: Concrete Jungle reads, "Each opponent turns all locations he controls face down. <p> Ongoing: Whenever an opponent flips a location, that opponent discards a card." The ongoing triggered power is active once the plot twist is played, while the effect is still on the chain; the effect's modifier that turns the locations face down doesn’t happen until the effect resolves. If your opponent flips a location in response to this plot twist, the ongoing triggered power will trigger off that.

Sounds like the ongoing text becomes active just after the plot twist is "played" so it misses the trigger opportunity.

Haha. It's the third fan-set that my playgroup made legal (after DCU and MFA). So far I've only built Black Hand and Shadowpact, but I'm enjoying it very much so far. Kudo's to the development team!
