I actually have a question about SSV now.
My understanding would be you could have seven characters in play (i.e. six plus Black Rose) and as long as exactly six of them have printed Secret Six affliation you will still win with SSV's effect. I think otherwise it would say "...if you control exactly six characters and each has the printed Secret Six affiliation, you win the game." I think it's just checking the number of characters you control with the printed affiliation not the total number of characters and the affiliation. Is this wrong? |

hmmm...interesting point of view. I've been interpreting it "literally". But, in fact, you're controlling "exactly" six characters with the printed Secret Six affiliation (and another character with different affiliation). It could work... (hope so!)

I remember one of my friends used to play this allot, so I started putting in 4 Tomorrow Womans in my deck to screw with him. Its hard to get the conditional win when ya got an extra 2 drop hangin out. |

I would say the way OMB is interpretinting the card is correct. "..exactly six characters with the printed Secret Six affiliation" is one check. The wording should be different if it wants to check for "exactly six characters" and "all with the printed secret six affiliation". So no need to worry about that lonely Black Rose with her printed Underworld affiliation :P Awesome lists btw :) great idea to use those Secret six cards! |

I agree with OMB and Dr. Strange on this ruling. Cards usually only mean what they say and no more. |

7. Triggered powers with a condition This expansion introduces triggered powers worded as follows: “[When event occurs] and [condition], [do something].” The [condition] is checked only when the power triggers; it’s not re-checked when the triggered effect resolves. Now, there are three types of triggered powers with a condition, namely: • “[When event occurs] and [condition], [do something].” This condition is checked only on triggering. • “[When event occurs], [do something] if [condition].” This condition is checked only on resolution. • “[When event occurs], if [condition], [do something]” This condition is double-checked on both triggering and resolution. Example: Witchfire reads, “Whenever Witchfire stuns a character and you have 25 or less endurance, gain endurance equal to that character’s cost.” Whenever she stuns a character, her power triggers only if you have 25 or less endurance. When her triggered effect resolves, you gain endurance regardless of your endurance total. Example: Abjuration reads, “At the start of the build phase, gain 5 endurance if you have 10 or less endurance.” Its power triggers at the start of the build phase regardless of your endurance total. When its triggered effect resolves, you gain endurance only if you have 10 or less endurance. Example: Nightshade, Shadow Siren reads, “At the start of your attack step, if you have 25 or less endurance, you may have the controller of target unprotected character move it to his hidden area.” Nightshade’s power triggers only if you have 25 or less endurance at the start of your attack step. Her triggered effect is negated if you have more than 25 endurance on resolution. |

Savant I know it's a double check power. We're just trying to clarify the condition. If I have six Secret Six character and Black Rose then I control "exactly six characters with the printed Secret Six affiliation" and exactly one character with the printed Underworld affiliation. What's the check? Number of characters with Secret Six? Or is it total number of characters AND that they have printed Secret Six? Edited by OMB, Oct 3 2012, 11:11 PM.

Random question, but couldn't you put in A clash of worlds, and get multiples of whoever out that way? |

Yes you could indeed, but these are BYOTT decks so that card is illegal :) |
