Dr. Strange states the truth, 50/50 no more than 4. I tend to run closer to 32/28 depending upon how many search cards you run. Decks where you team-up two or more teams can be good, but if you "need" those teams to be teamed up you need to run extra team-up cards taking up space in our deck (at least 6 if you must have the team-up, or ways to search for the team-up card). You can mix cards from any set of course but some work together better than others. I tend to run a bell curve of characters if I'm trying to play a character each turn of the same cost as the number of resources I have, or a lot of smaller characters tapering off at the top if I plan on playing multiple characters each turn to reach my resource limit (for instance a 1-1-and-2 on turn four instead of a cost 4 character on 4). Remember it doesn't cost resource points to play locations or plot twist you just need to have enough resources down to meet the threshold (4 resources down to play as many 4 cost or less plot twists as you want in a turn). Hope some of this was worthwhile. |

Yes, thank you. Anything from anyone's specific experiences is always great to hear since I know nobody else here who plays, and will have to teach it to other people just get players. |

I love Dr. Strange too, but I guess that figures ^^ With "support" I indeed mean plot twists, locations and equipments. What I tend to do when playing with friends won't really help you out, because I have a plethora of decks that all play in different ways and are build arround that (like my Avengers Reservist deck runs 40 characters and 20 "support" where my Quickfate deck runs only 20 characters and 40 "support") But I second what Kariggi stated above, if you lack search cards for the teams that you choose to play, you should lean towards higher amount of characters. Also I like the tip on team-ups allot, personally I too tend to play atleast 6 team-ups (or a combination with search, like 2x The Dwarf, Soul Broker and 4x Ritual Sacrifice, team-up for Underworld team-up decks). And on the matter of plot twists asking for specific cards that you dont have, it's no use to play them because... well you can't play them :D If you don't have any Infinity Gems it is no use to play Gatherng the Watch, because you can never pay the additional cost of revealing a gem. Where to start with making a deck depends allot on what your current cardpool looks like. What sets do you have stuff from? What teams do you have allot of? And the kicker question for this game: What team would you like to play? |

I really have to sort out what cards belong to what. I bought 3 starter packs and then bought a lot of around 2k cards from a friend of mine. They are mixed marvel and DC. I think there are some from every XP. But most of them are common/uncommons. Are there an legititmate trading websites that you would recommend? Up until now I have been using Ebay only simply because I am unsure of other sites. But rather than sell cards I would like to trade for some I want. Mostly I would trade the DC ones. |

I sort by teams then cost, set isn't usually as important for playing (only tournaments care). Some folks sort their team specific plot twists, locations and such with the teams to keep it all together, I do characters and other cards separate since some list more than one team and I'm never sure where to put them if I sort then with the teams. |

By all means get a friend to help. When you have litraly cases upon cases of mixed cards, the help is much needed to keep you sane. |

For trading I think this site here is pretty legit :D give it a try! You can also try "tradecardsonline" though. For buying singles I would suggest coolstuffinc, trollandtoad or strikezoneonline. Goodluck sorting! :) |

It's generally a bad idea to mix in characters that don't share a team. They can't team attack/reinforce with each other and that will leave you at a disadvantage vs a deck that can. So I would just stick to one team to start off with while you're getting the hang of things. You can go a little crazy with deck making later. :) And yeah if your deck can't use a plot twist just leave them out for stuff you can. I recommend either sticking to plot twists that work with your team or generic ones like flying kick that doesn't care what team your characters are. And you're correct on that last question. |

One thing to consider is # of characters at each drop. Generally, for your standard curve deck, I'll run: 1 drops 0-4 2 drops 6 3 drops 6 4 drops 6 5 drops 5 6 drops 3-4 7 drops 2 8 drops or higher 0-1 Adjusted a bit for how much character search you play, but for casual games I usually don't play much (and if you're not playing with proxy cards, chances are you won't have many search cards, as a lot of them are rares.) For other cards, I run the vast majority of them as team stamped cards, unless other cards really fit the deck. I feel it tends to make the decks feel more unique, which I like for casual play. You may not really have an option for this though, depending on how 'random' your card pool is. For how many teams you want to play, almost always one team, or a team up with two teams that compliment each other. It's fine having characters who have multiple teams, eg JLA and Team Superman for a Superman card, but I wouldn't play that along with a third team. If you do want to play more teams in a single deck, I'd only do it if there was a specific purpose in mind (eg, the Skrull affiliation is based around this, where they get benefits from playing more teams. Or, you may have a particular combo of characters that is the base of your deck.) But again, depending on your card pool, you may be forced into playing more teams. |

Whats the max multiples you can use/need before considering a card for trading? I have heard it is 4. Like if I have 4 spiderman of the exact same card I cant make use of any more and they would be considered excess. Is this also the case with PT's and Equip? I am considering trading here on this forum as suggested, but I can't even bear to think of me taking inventory of 1000+ cards that may or may not even trade. May just take multiple photos and see what's doing. What do yall think? |

The max of a card you can use in a DECK is 4. Usually you won't need more than 4 copies (also refered to as "a playset") of any single card. But there are some exceptions like if you like to play aggressive decks and want to build multiple, then having a card like "flying kick" 8 or 12 times isn't bad :) Or if you like to play Checkmate decks a couple extra Ahmed Samsarra's never hurt. But most cards are enough to have 1 "playset" of. As for making a list for this site, most people only list their spare rare's. Commons and Uncommons are usually specificly asked for because most people wouldn't want to list all of those :) Edited by Drstrange, Oct 16 2012, 04:10 PM.

Yeah, I am mainly looking to trade my DC commons & uncommons for some marvel of the same value. I am not too pushed, just looking to fill out decks that are lacking with similiar cards. I would like to make my infinity watch playable and a maybe add some more web of spiderman cards. Tonight I will go through my marvels and see what I could use but again I am mainly looking just to fill out decks rather than accumulate rares. I guess when I determine this it's as simple as making a thread over there, right? I am hoping I will find someone who is looking to fill out their DC decks with commons and uncommons. Just a quick question, you do know you can mix DC and Marvel cards while creating a deck right? But ofcourse its possible you don't like the DC universe ^^ Just check what you need for to fill out some decks so you can make a threat (or hook Kariggi up on his offer ;) ) I bet people here can help you out. |
