Quick question: The card Out of Darkness says "target Hidden character". It then moves said hidden character and gives it -3 Def. Can I use it to target a non-concealed character? Or even a concealed optional one in the visible area? Or is this why they printed No Man Escapes the Manhunters? :P I'm afraid I already know the answer, but I am running out of generic combat pumps for my decks and was hoping this would be a good pump instead of just limited hidden hate. :/ As an aside, is there any way/tutorial that shows how to make decent proxies? There was a tutorial around there that could wipe off the facing of certain foils, but is there a way to do that with non-foils? White out? :P Sorry, not rule questions, but certainly related to the above issue.. |

the target must be in the hidden area, you could have a normal character hidden and target it with the plot, but it must be in the hidden area. for your other question there is a way to erase the ink of normal cards but believe in me that it is a pain in the arse to do that, you need to put a lot of work and sometimes the results are not worthy the effort, but if you want to go that way, just use an ink eraser and thats all, you spend from 15 to 20 minutes erasing the ink of just one card. |

Note that "No Man Escapes the Manhunters" does effectively (almost) the same as "Out of the Darkness" but can target any character. And this video at 1:25 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrPQGYl7Knc shows a way of making non-foil proxies too (in the same way but with cards from later sets, after MVL) |

You keep your DCL commons? I usually just throw away the whole pack if it doesn't have a Metropolis Marvel in it. I wish someone had told me they use trash cards for proxies, I could have sent you a truck load for the cost of postage. |

I don't actually though I have a friend that does (do this to non-DCL commons), but funny story when I needed backing for my own card game I was working on I stuck the paper slips in from of extra DCL commons and uncommons since that was the handiest set around with a box full of dupes, I handed out multiple decks in hopes of encouraging a few folks I knew to playtest and report back. Sadly I suspect those cards are sitting at the bottom of a round file somewhere, but at least Starfighters decks are only 50 cards meaning less than a few hundred DCL cards went out the door thus disguised. On the bright side look out for Starfighters cards you might hit a windfall though I'll be sad you pulled Starfighters paper-slip proxies I painstakingly cut out and slid into those sleeves just to get your hands on a few DCL cards. |

I have a friend who would proxy decks like that back in the day, but he was sloppy about it so he would sometimes grab the occasional junk rare or uncommon. A few months ago we came across a pile of his old proxies so we checked to see if there was anything worth keeping (we all use sleeves so proxying on the back isn't a death sentence for a card). The pile must have been an old school rigged or fat bat deck because there were a ton of proxied GCPD officers. One of them was proxied on the back of an actual GCPD officer... I'll never understand. |

Yeah, kinda figured. :P Oh well, was just hoping to put that card to use... Ah, yes, I remember that video. Just with foils? Hm, was hoping to put my crappy non-foils to use. Well, that works. Thank you all for the timely response. Glad to see the Vs. community still exists! XD And wow, are DC Legends commons that bad or what? XD I'll take 'em if no one wants 'em! :D |
