I have been working on a FF equipment deck, that I have fun playing but im looking to incorporate the 6 drop Punisher from MEQ into it. I realize that i could run a team-up, but then i would have to change the characters around to get some MK or SF on the field, i really wanna stick as close to a FF equipped theme as i can, but the Punishers ability is pretty slick, when your playing a heavy equipment deck. The deck setup so far is working really well. Adding the Punisher into the mix would make it even more fun, most of the games i play are in a group setting, usually 3 or more of us. I prefer to play a single affiliation deck, but i want the Punisher to be able to stack equipment and bonus's from the FF equipment. Any suggestions that you have will be appreciated. Characters 1 drop: Invisible Woman MVL-162 x4 2 drop: Mr. Fantastic MOR-055 x4 3 drop: Nathaniel Richards MVL-174 x4 4 drop: Invisible Woman MOR-051 x4 5 drop: Mr. Fantastic MOR-056 x4 6 drop: Thing MFF-010 x2 Hulk MOR-046 x2 Plot Twists 3 Salvage MOR-213 4 It Clobberin' Time MOR-072 3 Signal Flare MOR-073 2 Force Shield MFF-012 Locations 2 Pier 4 MSM-117 2 Baxter Building MOR-068 2 Antarctic Research Base MOR-067 Equipment 4 Fantasticar MOR-070 4 Fantasticar 2.0 MVL-184 3 Framistat MAV-205 4 Pogo Plane MOR-074 3 Personal Force Field MOR-208 |

Couple of things: 1) your curve seems pretty weak. You will never have more than 3 guys through turns 1-5 making it easy to block and attack your characters. You need more diversity for your character selection otherwise your only going to have a very small board presence. 2 your equipment choices aren't very good. Pogo plane is pretty terrible IMO and PFF isn't very good either. Maybe cards like twin firearms and flamethrower would help out more or every the various Gem equips. You do also know/remember that characters may only have 1 piece of equipment unless a card is granting them the ability to have more than 1. 3 this might be pointless but Antarctic Research Base is on the UDE ban list. You should def have 4 signal flare to help your search woes. More low drops ensures curve hitting and they can be discarded to signal flare and cards like mobilize for later drops. There's also the straight to the grave + Avalon/ swamp search engine. If you must run pogo plane, include human torch and Fours freedom plaza. 6 drop thing seems like a poor choice, 5 drop thing from MOR would be much better on 6 with either another character or equipment. Tech upgrade would work well if you change up the equip lineup. Maybe add some tech cards to help protect your guys, yancy street, omnipotence, pathetic attempt, etc. The deck right now reads ad a equip beatdown deck but has no way to protect itself and no way to interact with the other player. You play a guy, attach some equipment(s) and swing hoping your guy lives and doesn't get hit with a combat trick. A stall deck, for example, would pretty much be able to ruin this deck with little effort. A timely Reign of Terror and there goes a guy or 2 plus some equipment. It's just needs some tweaking to be more consistent and less hoping it goes your way. |

Because you could recruit another 1 drop with thing to get twice the amount of combat pump. As I said before you should diverse you character lineup and spread the quip love. |

Also if I'm reading pogo plane correctly, no location is worth a resource point and a card. Sure it's cool on turn 5 but by then your deck should already be setup to do what your aiming to do and you can't even play the location until turn 6. Your curve runs 1-6 and in a perfect match you hit every drop. You have 2 slots with recurring characters meaning the old ones will get KO'd by the uniqueness rule. Where do you play an equipment at until turn 5? You have no way to gain resource points and would basically be playing under curve characters until turn 5 when you hopefully play 4+ equipment. I don't see the consistency anywhere that would allow that to happen. I'm not sure what your play group plays but seeing as how the is a Golden Age deck it doesn't seem like it has a chance against much in that format even excluding the best in that format, titans, TNB, etc. Edited by SuperAzn, Feb 9 2013, 08:34 PM.

Black Panther searches and equips equipment for free on turn 3 and is Marvel Knights so would fit well with Punisher. Flame thrower and Advanced hardware are probably 2 of the more obvious equipment choices for some nice burn. |

My advice is to choose one: Cars or Utility? You can make a great FF deck based around getting as many Fantasticars on your guys as possible, and you can do the same by having tons of utility equips to supplement your characters on specific situations. Combining them hasn't worked out very well for me. Regardless of what you choose it's good to play Tech Upgrade, which gives card advantage and helps you find your equips. |

I prefer the cars, as far as equipment goes then would i just run the 8 cars? with plenty of characters/equipment searchers? I thought i had the right idea running the 2, and 5 drop Reed, most of the FF equip decks i looked at had them both in the decks. Ukyo_rulz do you have any other recommendations as far as FF equipment goes? SKAZ1 awesome idea, thank you very much. |

Dropping a bunch of cars on 5 sounds pretty fun. Use Mr. Fantastic and Luke Cage to get hand size. Three drop Thing from MVL isn't too terrible for a solid body on 3. I like Franklin Richards on 4 but I doubt he will ever keep his cosmic going into turn 5 unless you play Invisible woman on 3 with force fields. |

This was my very first Deck it took me to the Pro's if only to a 5-5 day. First Golden Age PC, a lot has changed but FF is still a solid deck with a lot of great builds within it. Antarctic Research Base got banned because of the Fate Artifacts, if your format admits banned cards you might want to give it a go though Nick Fury is still the best / worst / most broken deck ever assembled. But I digress. You could run the New Baxter Building and Baxter Building. Edited by kariggi, Feb 12 2013, 03:02 AM.

Well I do run just 8 cars and lots of search in my FF equips deck. I'm not saying it's the only way to go, but it's worked out very well for me. I'll see if I can write up a post about it on my blog, but right now I am dead tired from my recent WonFes adventure so I can't do it right away. I also promised some other people I'd look at their decklists and see what suggestions I would make, if any. While the write-up is in the planning stages, I can answer your questions: It has Mr Fantastic at five only. On two I have She Thing and Luke Cage (MVL). I set up the drops so that I can maximize the chance of getting to turn five while having a lot of characters still alive. This is so they can equip the cars. |

Awesome build uyko. Only thing I dislike about it, and really this is for every deck out there running them, omnipotence and pathetic attempt. I feel as a deck builder I need like 20 copies of each lol |

Omni and PA are just stupid good. Not running them is like not running Mobilize or Enemy of my Enemy. I've always said that one of the failings in VS System is the proliferation of overpowered generics. They homogenized the decks so much that instead of thinking if there are reasons to run Omni in your deck, you need to think if there are reasons NOT to run them. They're in the flexi-slots, though. You could just as easily have Meltdown and War of Attrition in their place. Edited by ukyo_rulz, Feb 17 2013, 05:41 PM.

We generally don't run Omni around the house since we all know each others decks so well. I hate to fault PA though, it really does give straight agro curve its first real chance against stall decks and makes off combat stun decks much more chancy to run and in beats vs beats its a dead card. I find deck building to be very different now without a tournament scene it becomes more about play enjoyment for everyone involved and less about the combo win, self play decks and long builds. Its actually why I built the FF life gain deck since it lets your opponent play out there game but can still win on 8-9. |
