So I'm curious as to any good cards/decks that don't involve justice league of arkham. Anyone have any suggestions as to some good cards for a theme like this? Also are there any cards that benefit from the opponent not having cards in hand? Something like a character similar to joystick.. Thanks in advance all |

the only team I know that takes advantage of your opponent not having cards in hand is future foes but the only bad thing they have in their mechanic is that almost all of their good effects are optional and if the opponent discards a card or not they can null your effect. they are not so bad but dont expect to win tournaments with this theme, they are just good for fun.

X-men / Shi'ar seem to have the most discard after FFoes. If your friends will let you play him Caliban (2) your opponent can't draw cards outside of their regular draw, from the MEV set 3 drop Corsair 4 drop er fishy looking guy 5 Rachael Summers dual affiliated Energize -> Discard ... |

er yeah sorry very early in the morning, I'm not allowed to play caliban so my version of the deck just gets beat up, sits in a box and sulks. Warmachine Armor. |

With talk of Injustie Gang lately and Felix Faust, I started trying to come up with a way to force them to draw cards and then discard those cards to force endurance loss with Felix Faust. The following cards came in somewhat handy. Alex Wilder (Draw and discard 3 cards) Gravesite (Draw and discard before draw step) Super Skrull from MEV These are the ones that stood out. Obviously Arkham Inmates is a nice addition as well. I would look at the VS Search vsDatabase that is linked on the front page of .org and then search for the word "discards" in the text of the card and that will give you every card available. The might help you narrow down your search. |

Good idea but "discards" is to vague of a term. Discards is also a cost for many many cards. Opponent discards is also kinda vague but narrows the search a little better. |

Everything with that as a payment will say "discard" so adding the extra s and making it "discards" should actually narrow it down to what you're looking for. I just went and tried it out and it seems perfectly viable to me. |

OMB is correct. You discard, your opponent discards, so the word "discards" will only pull up anything that tells your opponent to discard a card. |

If you're playing with MEV, Future Foes/Starjammers is actually pretty solid as a fun deck. You start out with an early curve of Future Foes, and look to play a lot of the better FF effects - don't rely on them, but force your opponent into positions where they aren't sure about discarding or not. You want a balance between discard and them actually letting your effects go off. Then you drop Rachel/Korvus on 5 and 6, who should be able to drain the rest of their hand if they aren't playing card draw (Caliban can stop that, again if your playgroup lets you use him). On turn 7 you drop Havok, and he should generally make it hard/impossible for your opponent to really do much. Without MEV, honestly, I don't think it's really an option for any kind of decent deck. |

This is the travesty I put together X-men/Starjammers Nightcrawler (SJ/XM) 2 drop great for making the team-up since he has both affiliations and can hide himself or someone else. He also has energize so if y9ou can get the ego gem on him hooraw. I believe I currently back this up with Beast on 2 for the 3/3 energize, but I'd run Caliban if we didn't have a no-shift effect rule (my buddy will fold since all his decks are built on draw which makes winning with this deck and no caliban impossible but w/e, we have all mostly agreed not to use shifted effects - the ones generated by characters that can't be touched) Corsair/Psylock (Corsair good - Psylock terrible) on 3 Ok I need to get back to the revised Furture Foes set and Finish off New Gods. |
