Attention Baltimore Participants! It has been brought to my attention by several people that they would like to have Omni banned for the Dual Legend tournament this fall. After discussing the subject in length last night I will leave the decision up to those playing in the tournament. There is one stipulation however. If Omni goes, so does PA. So those are your choices, both allowed to be played, or neither. Please vote here and post that you voted and your opinions on the subject. |

I think my feelings on PA are pretty established at this point and I'm generally concerned that Omni can completely shut down some decks at next to no cost. If Spider-Man or Bosom Buddies get me then so be it. |

So we have a vote not to ban. More votes? Any one want to give any reasons to ban or not to ban? |

hmm...im undecided. i mean...pa and omi do hurt decks...but that measure of control is kinda needed to give control/stall decks a chance. |

Well to be honest, that would be pretty hard to do. Quicksilver has no support cards, so you'd have to play 12 copies of quicksilver. Honestly, PA is the card that bothers me most, but PA is the card that helps against control decks. And Omni is only stellar against Spider-Man, who will be packing his own Omni and they'll just call Omni when they play theirs. PA on the other hand allows aggro decks to stop the control effects. Now the big concern, which is the only reason I put this up in the first place, are combo decks. Without Omni and PA, combo decks could possibly become troublesome. We have been playtesting several different legends, and several different deck types (control, curve, weenie/off-curve, combo, etc.) and the main thing that PA/Omni would have an effect on are the combo decks and to a VERY lesser extent weenie/off-curve. As has been said before, the deck space is VERY tight in this format. It makes finding "tech" slots very difficult. The hardest part is finding 2 legends that mesh well (Spidey/Galactus being the exception to this rule). And then you have to find the right balance of cards to play per legend, while keeping the 12 card rule. Then you have to build a deck that can support those 2 characters. You MIGHT have about 4 open slots, if that when all is said and done. Now, I haven't voted in this poll because I really don't care either way. However, with a significant amount of people wanting Omni banned, I decided that its all or nothing with those 2. Either we get both cards or neither. |

The bottom line is Control type decks want Omni and Aggro/Combo type decks want PA. If anything banning PA will help control decks because it will be less likely that an opponent will be able to negate your attempts to mess with their stuff. Banning Omni helps everyone because your opponent won't be able to lock you out of your best plot twist/character effect. I just don't see a huge downside to banning these cards in this tourney. |
