Banning those cards dictate the format to much I believe...its a golden format with mev and the only thing banned is blink to take away these cards would be crazy |

I agree keeping mev and banning PA & Omni just seems unbalanced... either ban none or atleast ban both.. or some kinda restrictions |

Listen my group were discussing this and banning the cards makes no sense if balance is what is being sought when MEV, an unbalance set, is being included. Cards like omni and pa help make it somewhat balance. I know for one there decks in this format from mev that auto lose to those two cards and auto win when those two cards are not included. I would be a fool to waste my time going to a tourny with a such a banning. Now my group were originally pro banning have now changed their oppinion once i reminded them that mev is going to be involved |

What decks involving MEV in this format have an auto win without PA/Omni in this particular format? This thread and poll is to figure out whether or not the cards are too detrimental to the fact that we are playing Legend based decks. Omni for one shuts down a big portion of the deck for certain legends. And I can't see banning one without the other in any format. Now, as for MEV being allowed, if anyone can build a consistent broken deck while still maintaining the restrictions of the format, please share it with me. I would really be genuinely interested in seeing how that can be done with have your deck referencing 2 characters and the other have supporting those 2 characters.. |

That defeats the purpose of test for the event if i told you the lists.. We are competitors of the event after all. Ill just say within this format with or without pa/omni i have decks that will kill you consistantly on turn 4 or kill you with easy turn 9. Of those list including pa/omni. Would make it more fair for other decks to compete in an "mev" environment |

And like i said there are counters to omni. For example reality gem. Which is search able and never a dead card |

OK. This is plain and simple a discussion and poll on whether or not the majority of people want the cards banned or not banned. Truthfully, I don't care if they are allowed in the format or not. I haven't even voted in the poll for that reason. I see the benefit of both having them in the format, and not having them in the format. I personally don't like PA, but I have no problem with Omni. I agree with you that Omni is easily hated, but is it right that every deck should be playing resource row hate just to play they're Legend(s)? In a format with 24/60 cards dedicated to 2 different characters, it doesn't leave a lot of room for "tech" or "open" slots. By taking the 2 out of the format the only thing that becomes dangerous are the combo decks. control has plenty of ways of controling without PA, and truth be told, most decks running PA would be the curve/off-curve strategies trying to stop the control decks. The arguement of "losing PA/Omni will make the format nothing but aggro decks" is IMO completely false. If anything, losing PA make control stronger, and losing Omni makes combo better. Neither of those 2 cards really do anything against a true aggro deck. Does PA help against things like Quicksilver, Faces, and Squad? Not that I can think of.. Omni helps against Quicksilver, but by turn 5 it doesn't matter anyway. Omni does basiscally nothing to Squad, or Faces. Our group here in Baltimore have been trying several things out, and like I said before, the only thing that Omni and PA are really wanted for are the combo decks. Now just to be sure, this is indeed a GA event and all sets MOR-MEV are legal. The Post-UDE ban list and erratas apply and the only card added to that list (as I feel it should be permanently added) is the 3 drop Blink. Your deck must contain 12 cards that are or reference character A, and 12 cards are or reference character B. This will result in 24 cards altogether that you have used up for your deck space. While you can use "Identity" Legends (Flash, etc), there are rules on the army cards you can play. You cannot have more than 4 of the same army character that reference your legend. So Moloids is possible, but only if Doom and Mole Man are your legends, and that makes you play 8 Moloids, and 4 copies of the Mole Man from MHG and 4 copies of the Mole Man from MSM. I honestly have no idea what the big deal is with banning them. Give me a solid reason why they need to be in the format and I'll keep them in. Otherwise the majority so far doesn't want to see them at the tournament. |

I said yes, same issues and worries as OMB on Omni ruining the legends format. As of now after more thinking and reading the general views people have, I don't care and would probably vote no don't ban them. Reason being, the game is at a point where if this X and Y cards are removed, cards M and N ate now broken. So whatever, I'd rather have defensive cards broken over 4 archetypes/teams being far better than the rest simply because no one has the answers to compete, smarter reads and baits are more fun even if the cards needed are debatably too good. |

I voted to ban the cards. My biggest problem is with Omni. Omni is generally an annoyance, but in a such an inflexible format where over a third of your deck must be dedicated to two names, Omni can be crushing by eliminating the payment powers of your legend or your legend's best support card at basically no cost to the player. Beyond that, while this is technically competitive, it's really just for fun and with 24 spots already spoken for I think it's unreasonable to be further restricted by having to figure out how to force resource hate into a deck just in case your opponent is packing Omni. As for PA, I have expressed on multiple occasions my issues with that card and I don't think its absence is ever any great loss. |

I voted to ban for most of the same reasons as everybody else. Omni to me just seems like a bad idea in this format as it just makes control stronger when you essentially know exactly what is coming at you due to the nature of this legend format. While it does cut both ways and you could argue that an agro deck could run it as well to try and hurt the control decks, control will almost always have more free slots to play with to include generic hate and the search to hit that generic hate. Even if the agro deck did have the space, running Omni in an agro deck is not necessarily furthering the goals of the deck to beat your face in, in control they do further the goals of the deck in denying your opponent the ability to do something. While PA does help the agro decks more against the control decks than vic-versa by negating a stun, an exhaust or the destruction of a resource it also helps combo decks a great deal (namely Bosom Buddies) protect themselves. Control decks existed long before PA or MEV was printed and plenty of decks found ways to beat them just fine. Although in the end the biggest reason for me is I really do like the freedom afforded in deck building by not having to live in fear of either of these. It allows one to make and consider playing decks that otherwise might be unplayable because the wheels come off the bus if any deck in the format can just PA one of your actions or play an Omni to take away the powers of multiple of your drops. |

i voted not to ban. personally i feel that even though both pa and omi are brainless, skill-less cards: they are needed to help deck maintain that control. if we did not have those cards, stall would have almost completely dominated the silver - modern format: with the exception of the only 2 aggressive decks that could have beaten them: mkko, and ig concealed. without either of those 2, this tournament will become nothing but "who gets their win condition 1st?" as far as omi stopping legend character payment powers...the only legends characters i can think of that omi can stop are spiderman (which is next to impossible to play with the strict rules) lex luthor (if you ran the dc legends one, but lets be real, who would in this format?) and human torch (which we actually need pa and omi to stop: who would have though?) proposition: if anyone can think of some payment power characters that can be played in this tournament, other then the ones i just mentioned, please, let me know. edit: does anyone out there want to get burned to death by advance hardware - flamethrower? i dont. ko the equipment, sure: we dont care. we can get it back. you are going to be wishing that useless plot twist that you swapped out for your pa, was actually pa. just sayin.
