Here are some additional rules for character creation: PLAYERS HANDBOOK Please stick to the material in the Player's Handbook for races, classes, skills, feats, etc. If you really want something outside of the PH because it will be awesome for the story, we'll talk about it. LEVEL Everyone is starting at level 1 HIT POINTS Instead of rolling the die, just assume you rolled the highest number. If your Hit Points after all modifications are less than 8, set them to 8. ALIGNMENT You can leave the alignment field blank, as your alignment will be evaluated on the fly based on your actions in the game. ABILITY SCORES For your six ability scores, use the numbers 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, and 8 in whatever order you like. MONEY AND EQUIPMENT Everyone starts with whatever normal gear they want for adventuring, including a riding horse. Please keep track of what you carry with you, and everything else is assumed to be on your horse unless you say you grab it when you dismount. Everyone has a petty cash fund to pay for basic food, drink, and cheap inn rooms. We do not track petty stuff like this. Everyone starts with 100 gold. EXCEPTIONS I'm open to exceptions if they are easy and fit into my concept of the game. For example, if you want to be a gnome, I can work with that. THE WORLD The world we will play in will be constructed from scratch. When you all make your characters, I'll incorporate the races you choose into the world. Your characters will be unaware of any other fully intelligent races if any exist at all. Semi-intelligent races you know exist for sure are goblins, orcs, trolls, and ogres because they live in the nearby mountains and occasionally harass small human settlements. However, they have been driven to near extinction by the more intelligent races. You've heard stories about other semi-intelligent races, but you don't know how true the stories really are. LANGUAGES Ignore the language rules. You speak common and one native language (racial, local, or whatever). You can all read and write both languages enough to get by, but your fluency depends on your Intelligence. GODS Since we are inventing the world as we go, we don't have to use the gods from the book. If your class requires that you believe in a deity, then you have a few choices: 1. Invent one and talk it over with me. 2. Use one from the rules. 3. Invent some way for your class to function without a deity. Edited by Billzbub, Jul 19 2012, 01:25 PM.

Can everyone meet this Sunday at 3pm at our house to make characters (or help others if you've made yours)? It shouldn't take more than two or three hours. Making characters is a good way to start understanding some of the rules if you are new to the system. If that is not a good time, then we can adjust it or you can meet with me separately for help making your character. Please post here with your response. |

Take Alafaya south past Lake Underhill and past the entrance to Eastwood where there's a Publix on the left. The next left after the Publix is the entrance to Stoneybrook (Stoneybrook Blvd). Turn there and pull up to the guard station. Tell them your there to visit Bill Kretz, and they will call me and let you in. Drive down Stoneybrook Blvd through about 10 stop signs until you see the subdivision Mayfair Run on your left. Turn left there onto Hillshire Drive. We're the 3rd or 4th house on the left at 2292 Hillshire Drive. |

Okay, here's the schedule for realz. Melissa is coming over at 4pm. Scott and Shannon are coming over by 5pm. Justin and Treanna will arrive sometime between 4pm and 5pm. That way we all get to meet and talk about the origins story. |

I have my own digital character generator. Be sure to ask Bill if you can have one too. It ROCKS! |

No you don't. You have a character sheet specific to you that changes based on your level. I'm not spending 3 hours each to make one for everyone. And no, I will not fix their computers before you ask for that too. |
