The World The world in which Genesis takes place in is called Genos, and like the world that we know, is an almost-sphere shaped world that houses many continents big and small in the midst of its vast ocean. The biggest and the officially recognized of these continents are two gigantic land masses, nicknamed by the creatures of Genos Solia and Listia respectively. Solia Solia, the "Western" continent, is then split into two again, Greater Solia—the larger Northern piece of the continent—and the smaller, Lesser Solia. Between the two continents, Solia is known as the unstable one, housing the majority of Genos' physical mana reserves in the form of countless crystal mines. More than half of Greater Solia is covered in eternal snow and storms, while the rest of it consists of dry deserts and cold, icy tundra. Lesser Solia, in comparison, is slightly greener than its larger mainland. However, the intrusion of Eden technology had recently disturbed the already brittle balance of mana in this small continent, bringing signs of the decay that had permeated the mainland into this still-green but slowly dying land. Listia Listia is the "Eastern" continent, located right across Solia on the globe. Unlike the dry Solia, Listia is blessed with an abundance of green trees and hot summers. This continent also enjoys a stable flow of mana, which had been kept so for centuries, even millenias long by the elves of Listia, who resides in a secluded town deep in the thickest forest of the land. However, the one thing that Listia doesn't have is a natural source of physical mana crystals, thanks to the rapid flow of mana on the continent that prevents residual mana from building up in the soil, or any other sources for that matter. This has prevented a wider spread of mana usage among people with different mana affinities, more often than not resulting in discrimination based on mana-affinity. This sort of discrimination is rarely found around Solian nations, where natural mana affinity is overshadowed by learned ‘magic’ usage. Little Listia Despite not being recognised as a continent in its own right, the isle of Little Listia is otherwise famous as a resort as well as a place of worship and meditation among Listian locals. Located right in the middle of the Listella, in the middle of a gigantic cove near the central of Listia, half of this large-enough island is dedicated for leisure in white sand and glittering blue seas, while the other half houses numerous temples belonging to various deities that is believed to be the guardians of Listia. |
