The NXT crowd sucked this week Black v Ohno... I wonder if that will be a way to push Itami and Ohno or something more Ember Moon has the worst character development in NXT The girl that keeps screaming in the crowd is super annoying |

Incredible Last Woman Standing match. Best of the three Main Events this week and the closest we've probably seen Asuka come to defeat to date (even if it wasn't a pinning/submission match). Safe to say Nikki's definitely coming off as the most reliable woman in an Extreme Rules situation. |

Agree 100% about the last woman standing match. Very well done by both women. I am really enjoying the Hideo Itami character right now. Who thought that would be said? Sanity is becoming a lost cause Velvetta dream is an awful gimmick, but Patrick Clarke is doing a great job of making it entertaining. Could see him becoming the next Full Sail darling ala Dillinger or Breeze |

The crowds are either being made quiet or just make much less noise than before. I've really come to notice it over the last few weeks. Even Bobby Roode's entrance couldn't get a pop. That's simply not glorious... |

The crowd was clearly muted for Roode's entrance. Couldn't believe it when it happened. Why would you even do that!?! It was either lost on the WWE, or with recordings making it a tad difficult to count, but surprised that not only was the 400th episode not celebrated... it wasn't even mentioned once it was the 400th episode. |

I've never understood WWE muting crowds in general. Used to drive me mad when I used to collect the DVDs of PPVs way back when, only to watch them and hear the crowd completely muted throughout the entire show. Even during matches that were entirely driven by the crowd interaction, such as classics like Rock vs. Hogan, if you watch the version released on DVD, you can barely even hear the crowd throughout the entire thing. It's just bizarre, and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever why they even do that, and yet to this very day, they still fuck with that shit, and it's still just as maddening, and still just as much of a head scratcher.

Is NXT aired live, though? 'Cause in terms of muting the audience during live feeds, the only time I can recall them ever doing that was when they were muting the crowds booing Roman last year.

Staying on the same topic though, I actually recall the very first time I noticed them muting the crowds. This was way back even before DVD, when me and my brother rented a WWF PPV on VHS. And while we were watching it, we were just shocked by how quiet the crowd was, and I literally spent the entire show just commenting on how this audience sucked and they'll never go back to that town again, oblivious at the time to the fact that they had, in fact, muted said audience. But it just goes to show just how much is lost in doing such a thing, and how distracting it becomes when you remove the audience from the match. 'Cause they're just as much a part of the show as every single thing else, and you would think that a company like WWE would recognize this, and yet these practices for the past several decades now clearly show that, to some degree, they just don't. And yeah, that is just very fucking bizarre indeed. |
