I read that too. Then he was rumored to wrestle Strowman at WM... Now both that match and a match with Cena have been taken off the table... Very weird series of events... It would be great to see him wrestle Finn or AJ and let them carry him to a great match |

The Strowman thing worries me because on Raw when Taker was out there talking it cut to the back to show Strowman watching him on the TV. I have no interest in seeing Strowman vs Undertaker in 2017. |

The possibility that Taker's last match at Wrestlemania could be against Braun fucking Strawman is one of the biggest WTF moments I've ever heard. If this is a Vince call and he wants to make Strowman the next monster giant on his roster, I have a better, less off pissing idea: have him win the ATG Battle Royal. After that, have him win the US title and give him a Rusev like run with it that legit made the title feel bigger than it had in years. I'm tired of this train of thought in WWE that if Wrestler A beats Legend B, that makes him this uber good wrestler who should be taken more seriously when 6 months later, Legend B gets his win back and it's 50/50 booking and both matches end up being worthless. No, I think this needs to be Taker's last Mania and Strowman isn't the guy to do that and frankly, shouldn't even be considered as a Taker opponent for Mania. Hopefully, that shot of Braun watching Taker is a build up to either Braun attacking Taker after his match at Mania and "hurting him so there's a reason he is gone for 6 months" or he wants to become Taker's apprentice. |

You're kind of assuming winning the Andre Battle Royale means something. And while I agree with you that the whole thing is a shitty idea I think it's unfair to say Braun is unworthy for a Taker Wrestlemania opponent because have you seen some of Taker's earlier Wrestlemania opponents? Yikes. At this point it's hard to say anyone is unworthy. Bad choices? Oh yes, lot's of those. But unworthy? Ehh. |

Those early Taker Mania matches were nothing special, like most of Taker's matches before 1996. The thing is Taker's Mania matches the past 10 years or so are considered top matches for the show and while a lot of that is due to the streak being on the line for most of them, even the Shane-Taker match (that I hated btw) was considered in the top three matches of the show due to several factors. With Taker and Strowman, that instantly becomes one of the lowest matches on the card and Taker matches at Mania should be considered more important. |

I don't think so. The reason two Rumbles got booed out of the building was because Danial Bryan was so over that people couldn't stand not seeing him in the first one, let alone not winning the second one. But, I do expect this Rumble to be another disappointment and total waste. That's WWE's specialty these days, especially Raw. |

I'm surprised nobody else has pointed out how Sheamus is basically insinuating that one of these superstars, out of the six who've won the Royal Rumble match multiple times, isn't great. I wonder which of them it could be...

I would say no as well. I think they have enough to cheer for without being disappointed. I heard Taker is no longer guaranteed to win, but even if he did he's from Texas and he's the goddamn Undertaker so good luck finding a crowd that boos him. Roman is also not in the match so that eliminates that crappy finish. |

Yeah, but Roman is winning that fucking belt and is going into Wrestlemania for his third straight title match at the blandest stage of 'em all. |

I want Joe at 30 and Dillinger at 10. Trips said that he thinks it will go a way no one is expecting. I think this leads towards Joe. Man, that would be epic. |

I think it's pretty much a lock that Joe will be in this Rumble, likely winning it. I just can't see any other match at Wrestlemania that can be for the Raw championship that would have any hype to it like Joe's first Mania match. I just hope that if it ends up being Joe vs Reigns that Joe wins, but Roman has lost his last two Mania matches and I don't think he's jobbing in a third straight Mania title match. |

On the Smackdown side of things it's a lot less clear. WWE really wants John Cena to beat Ric Flair's record, but I can't tell if they're going to have him tie Flair at Mania or outright beat the record at Mania. If they do the record break at Mania, I think that's a sign that Cena will drop the belt at SummerSlam to the eventual MitB winner. Leads me to wonder what AJ Styles is going to be doing this year after Mania and I don't have a clue. I think Styles will be taking time off after Mania, returning at the MitB match, maybe winning, maybe not. Either way, I think we will see a Styles vs Balor match sometime this year to determine who "runs the club." Not that that shit matters because Gallows and Anderson are garbage in WWE. Then there's the Undertaker factor that I can't put a finger on either. On one hand we have Strawman watching him on a TV in the back, which can mean several things. First being he wants a match with Undertaker, second being he wants to join the Undertaker, third being he's really bored backstage when he's not wrestling and he had nothing better to do than watch the Undertaker on TV because he's a mark for guys named Mark. Then there's the possibility Taker could win the Rumble, which I think is growing less likely by the day. There's also rumors about him vs Finn Balor at Mania, which I think would be great because the entrances alone would be 15 minutes of awesomeness and a smaller guy working with Taker is an easier match for the older Undertaker to work. I'm all for Taker vs Balor and I'm figuring the impetus for the match is going to be Undertaker appearing on Raw to issue an open challenge to anyone on the Raw roster to take him on at Mania, to which only Demon Balor answers. It fits in with Undertaker appearing on Smackdown months ago before Survivor Series where he warned the SD team not to lose because he's super serial about Smackdown winning shit for some reason. |
