 205 Live Preview: February 13, 2018 Tonight on WWE 205 Live, former Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa battles Mark Andrews, and friends and frequent tag team partners Drew Gulak and Tony Nese collide in two highly-anticipated matches in the first round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Who else will enter the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament? Last week on WWE 205 Live, NXT Superstar Roderick Strong shocked the WWE Universe by entering the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament and defeating Hideo Itami. The hard-hitting displayed the resilience, skill and determination that WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick expects the Cruiserweights to channel when competing inside the squared circle. However, the appearance of Strong in the tournament understandably begs a question: Who else will enter? Responding to a tweet from Gentleman Jack Gallagher Friday evening, Maverick seemingly confirmed that Gallagher, Mustafa Ali, Ariya Daivari and a surprise entrant would be the final four competitors in the first round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Although the WWE 205 Live GM’s retweet of Gallagher was a question posed to the WWE Universe about the British Superstar’s opponent, the prospect of a surprise entrant – especially after Strong’s impressive performance last week – is certainly of note. Will Maverick reveal the final four matches of the first round tonight? Akira Tozawa vs. Mark Andrews, Tony Nese vs. Drew Gulak set for tonight. Through the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick is ensuring the highest level of competition the division has to offer, and tonight is no different. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa will battle U.K. Championship Tournament contender Mark Andrews in what is sure to be a fast-paced contest. Andrews made his first WWE 205 Live appearance last year when he teamed up with Cedric Alexander to defeat Joseph Connors and James Drake. The U.K. Championship Tournament semifinalist faces a daunting but huge opportunity against The Stamina Monster. Additionally, after being confronted by Maverick last week about the trajectory of their respective careers, friends and frequent tag team partners Drew Gulak and Tony Nese were informed that, as part of the changes underway on WWE 205 Live, the two would face each other in tonight’s other first-round contest of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament! |
