Despite an impressive victory against Akira Tozawa in the first round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, Mark Andrews had his WrestleMania hopes derailed by an aggressive Drew Gulak in the quarterfinals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Applying a torturous Dragon Sleeper for the win, Gulak refused to release the hold, forcing the official to intervene. Although Gulak would lose to Mustafa Ali in the tournament semifinals, Mark Andrews and Tony Nese – who Gulak brutally defeated in the tournament’s first round – both wanted a rematch with him. In the spirit of competition, WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick had Nese and Andrews compete for the opportunity to face Gulak first. Following a fast-paced battle, Andrews emerged victorious and immediately asked Maverick to make the match. Although Andrews is determined to defeat Gulak, the Philadelphia native is poised to inflict the maximum amount of pain upon his opponents. A hardened technical competitor, Gulak will use his in-ring ability to keep the high-fiving and stage-diving Andrews on the defensive and undoubtedly regretting a rematch.  205 Live Preview: April 10, 2018 Tonight on WWE 205 Live, as The Age of Alexander begins, is WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander up to face any and all new challengers? Plus, Drew Gulak and Mark Andrews battle in a WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament rematch. Is Drew Gulak too aggressive for Mark Andrews? Mark Andrews and Drew Gulak were originally scheduled to square off last week on WWE 205 Live, but Gulak asked General Manager Drake Maverick to postpone the match for a week. The reason for Gulak’s unexpected request? He wanted Andrews to fully recover from his grueling contest with Tony Nese that earned him the opportunity to face Gulak. When Andrew faced Gulak in the quarterfinals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, he was met with the same aggression that Gulak used to dominate his friend and frequent tag team partner Tony Nese in the opening round. After vanquishing Gran Metalik, TJP and Roderick Strong in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, Cedric Alexander – the soul of WWE 205 Live – battled his close friend, Mustafa Ali – the heart of WWE 205 Live – in the tournament finals on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Following a hard-fought and emotional contest, Alexander emerged victorious, finally claiming the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as his own. The victory caps off a long journey to the pinnacle of the WWE Cruiserweight division for Alexander, who saw his championship opportunity vanish when the title was held in abeyance before he could challenge for it at Royal Rumble. Despite the setback, Alexander remained focused and let nothing stand in the way of claiming the championship on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Alexander may not have much time to rest, as WWE 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick wants the best competition for the WWE Universe, and Superstars like Buddy Murphy have their sights set on the championship.  205 Live Preview: April 17, 2018 Tonight on WWE 205 Live, General Manager Drake Maverick will address Buddy Murphy’s attack on WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. Tornado Tag Team action set for tonight! In recent weeks, the tension between Hideo Itami & Akira Tozawa and Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik has reached a serious boiling point. It all began during a tag team bout which saw Itami & Tozawa victorious, but Itami seemed a bit overzealous in his celebration, drawing the ire of Dorado. Despite Tozawa and Kalisto’s attempts to keep the peace, even the two of them threw dow n in a tense and highly competitive showdown of former WWE Cruiserweight Champions.However, WWE 205 Live General Manager has decreed that the two pairs of Cruiserweights will battle in a Tornado Tag Team Match in which there must be a winner. As the rivalry has intensified, the goal of both teams is clear – they each demand respect. It will no doubt be a high-flying, hard-hitting and fast-paced battle as all four Superstars will settle the score tonight! Will Buddy Murphy face consequences for his actions? Last Tuesday was supposed to be a celebration of Cedric Alexander’s journey and victory on The Grandest Stage of Them All after he finally claimed the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. His friend and vanquished WrestleMania opponent Mustafa Ali was even on hand to congratulate the new champion.
