Much better show than I thought. Dillinger is as over as he will be in WWE. I'll be amazed if he isn't in the rumble. Almas and Strong put on a fantastic match. Almas stood out and finally showed what we all knew he was capable of. He seems to be finding his character as well. Great tag match and I'm curious to see what other teams will be a threat to AOP besides DIY. Please don't break DIY up. The women's match was ok. Asuka is a beast. That German to Nikki Cross looked amazing. I cringed. Nakamura had the entrance of the night on his stripper pole mobile thing. That match was so well scripted w great storytelling and a finish that left me emotionally attached. Well done, NXT. If Nak is this hurt, he better not show up in the rumble tomorrow |

This was not the best Takeover I've seen and the only matches that stood out were the Almas/Strong and Nakamura/Roode. Everything else was meh. The Authors of Pain are a great monster tag team for NXT and they'll be a great force for the next year and eventually will put over the next big babyface team. Dillinger is okay, but I don't expect much from him once he hits WWE. Sanity may eventually make it up to the main roster, but the only two from that group that have a chance to last are Eric Young, who is far from young, and Nikki Cross, who I think once she gets to WWE will basically need to be an ECW hardcore/spotmonkey wrestler. Those other two guys, one looks like a Wyatt Family clone and the other looks like the offsprin6 of Enzo and a Mrs. Potato Head. The women's four way is a hell of a farcry from the first Takeover I saw that had Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Charlotte have the Match of the Night. Peyton Royce and the other girl are pretty much Emma and Dana Brooke all over again, but a bit of the Glamor Girls too. They can't work and I don't care about them. Asuka is all alone down in NXT. Ember Moon will take the title from her some time this year. When Asuka gets called up to WWE IDK, but if she ends up on the same show with Charlotte, the Empress of Tomorrow is going to transform into a Peasant of Yesteryear because Vince has his chosen girl and she doesn't speak broken English. Smackdown, Asuka will be right there with Becky Lynch. Then, once Asuka is gone, NXT will have no women's division. Ember Moon and that super hot blonde from New Jersey, the one that bounces and twirls down to the ring with the hat and the jersery, they'll be the top girls. Decent workers, but not the best in WWE/NXT. Nakamura won't be in WWE for a long time. WWE may as well look into getting him some sort of manager who speaks better English and can cut more sophisticated promos for him. Nakamura can do the taped promos for the ppv intros and the Talking Smack/Raw Talk aftershows. |
