Boy this Raw really stuck out to me as to why a weekly 3 hour format is death for pro wrestling. The whole New Day and Rusev/Lana segment was PAINFUL to watch through most of it. The Big E Russian joke was good, but that doesn't save me the 15 mins this thing ate up and made me groan through. New Day's act is not sitting well with me lately and while I don't want to see them break up yet, I don't want to see their shtick anymore. Had this been a 2 hour Raw, this would have had no Ice Cream machine design story and would have just been a match. Then we could have skipped the Nia Jax squash match and just had Jax do an interview with the girl in the nice dress tonight and had Jax intimidate her into running away. Just as effective for building a monster heel, but not as time wasting. There's no purpose for Nia Jax to be involved in squash matches at this point other than to kill time. Then there was the Brock Lesnar segment with Cole. This thing was so bad I didn't even pay attention to it. All I remember from it is Lesnar grabbing the chair and sitting in it like he was a little emo boy ready to cry. Lesnar's stuff lately has been trash. Heyman seems disinterested, Lesnar doesn't care, hell he never cared, and the booking of Lesnar over the past year has made him look like an afterthought and a nobody. There needs to be a rapid change with Lesnar and I think one way to really breathe some freshness into his character is to dump Heyman as his manager for a little while. Now, Brock needs a manager because his promos aren't good, so I'd have have Kurt Angle be his interim manager. In fact, that's exactly what Angle should be to Lesnar: his interim representative or whatever New Era crap Vince comes up with to avoid the title of manager. This would be cool because it wouldn't last forever and early on, it would be really different to be seeing Kurt Angle, one of Lensar's greatest rivals and best all time feuds ever, be the voice of Lesnar, building him up as... the Beast. Eventually, it will end and when it does, could be used for the basis of a a Manager vs Client match at a ppv or something. |
