Goldberg talked about 1 more match during the road to last year's Wrestlemania. The talk then was against Ryback because of all the 'Goldberg' chants he was getting. I'd say he should stay retired.

WM31 is shaping up to be WM29 for all the wrong reasons.

I've just read that the reason why WWE took the Intercontinental Championship off of Dolph Ziggler was because he booked an improv comedy gig outside of WWE, instead of talking it through with the company first.

They can be so petty about the smallest things sometimes. :wankingmotion:

Reminds me of Punk's interview, when he mentioned always getting the run around while others got to do what he was trying to do. Looks like Ziggler took that "it's easier to forgive" advice, but it didn't quite work out for him. :\

The IC title is dead weight for Ziggler and it hasn't been a relevant title since Triple H held it before he tore his quad. Ziggler is better off without it.

Not saying WWE should pull the belt off him for something as silly as this. Why is it that Ziggler has to get permission from WWE to do things on his own time? Punk asking if he could walk Cheal Sonnen to the ring at a UFC ppv is one thing as that's a separate promotion from WWE and is on one of their ppv's, but to do a small comedy show that's not televised... facking bullshit!

I guess with all the content on the WWE Network and booking the wrestlers to show many shows a year, Vince really does expect people to follow his lead and not have a life outside WWE.

I would think it has more to do with Vince burying everybody in that Stone Cold podcast. I would imagine there's a fair amount of guys in WWE who may have been pushed into looking at careers beyond WWE knowing that they have no future besides stop and start pushes, jobbing, and so forth. Guys like Ziggler who've been with the company 10 years now may not care to re-sign if they can get something that pays almost as much, but with half the work schedule, injuries, and bullshit.

Looking from the outside in, WWE shouldn't be the end all be all of a career. In fact, it should be the stepping stone/pitstop Punk talks about. Look at all those who were in WWE who are now known for other work: Rock, Batista, Jericho, Austin, Punk, Hogan and his shitty 90's movies, Edge has the show on SyFy, etc. Compare that to the guys who can't imagine a life without pro wrestling in Steiner, Angle, Triple H, Hardy ( I swear if it wasn't for wrestling, he'd be a drug dealer), etc. Those guys, most of whom are in TNA, have no real future outside wrestling. If they'd apply themselves and drop the addictions, they could do other stuff for a living and not have to suck down painkillers by the hour.

In light of CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio's unceremonious departures from WWE, the company has updated their contracts so that wrestlers who are fired for disciplinary reasons will forfeit all merchandise rights, and will have a 1-year no-compete clause that prevents them from working for pro wrestling or MMA promotions.

^ Yeah, no court in the country will uphold a 1 year non-compete clause. It's like, if I go work for Welding Company A and I leave, they can't tell me I'm not allowed to go work for Welding Company B. You can't tell people that because you worked for us, you're not allowed to make a living after you leave.

I agree.

I'm actually waiting for somebody to get fired just to see what happens.

Then again, the contract might only relate to those who've recently signed with the company. Still, I wonder how much WWE can get away with.

Bret Hart was recently interviewed for January's issue of Total Wrestling Magazine. You can read it in full at Issuu.com.

Below are some of his thoughts on CM Punk and Daniel Bryan:

''CM Punk, is an exceptional talent who's really raised the bar in the last few years. I don't know how many wrestlers in the past few years that I can say that about. In wrestling there's a lot of repeat, not a lot of innovation but Punk raised the bar and Daniel Bryan is a great talent too. He reminds me of Owen, a quiet kid who's very talented. I love the way he wrestles, he does a lot that Owen did, like the dropkicks off the top, the nip-ups, there's a lot of little Owen traits in everything Bryan does.''

He also spoke about patching up his relationship with Vince McMahon several years ago:

''He was one of the first people to call me and ask how I was after my stroke, and we cleared a lot of the air, I'm really grateful for that call. I eventually got to beat him at WrestleMania 26 which I think is a better ending for us. I would say he's on the very best of terms with me now.''

Well... That's completely understandable considering how forgettable it all was.

It certainly wasn't ''memorable-bad'' like Lesnar-Goldberg turned out to be.
