I don't even understand the draw of Bryan and Sheamus unless it's a Sheamus heel turn. Even then, a Sheamus heel turn would be better used in another feud. Buy yeah, I understand what you're saying. The thing is Vince will get what Vince wants sooner or later. |

The funny part is that even though Bryan/Sheamus makes absolutely no sense at all. It will still probably be the best match on the card.

Yeah, in a meaningless match. If this card above is this year's Wrestlemania, I don't even know how WWE will be able to doll out the usual Mania pay to guys like Lesnar, Cena, Triple H, Sting, and whoever else will be tough for WWE to find because nobody will pay to see the show. |

Spinning out of the KOTR thread's comparison between Reigns and Cena: I honestly look forward to the day when we can look back and appreciate what John Cena has been. I imagine that day won't be until long after he retires, but I do hope some day we can appreciate what he has been. |

I want to say we'll look back and him as a better version of Hulk Hogan. Better in-ring performer but not as charismatic. Hogan's been both the top face and top heel in this business but we can't say the same for Cena and at this point we'll never see him as a pure villain again. We don't know what wrestling will look like 10, 15, 20 years from now... will it be less popular than today's era and if it is, we'll probably assign the era where John Cena was king as the era that wrestling went down the tubes. |

I share that sentiment. I just can't see how the business can get back to the those heights from 10 to 15 years ago. If I were a major WWE stakeholder, those are the heights I'd want the company to attain - huge tv numbers, 95% of all house shows selling out ... does vince and co. not miss those days? |

Of course, but WWE can't have sausage jokes that go on forever. Times change and at some point the Attitude Era would have worn itself out. WWE could go the route of ROH and really push the most talented people and that would be a fresh and necessary change. It wouldn't have to last 10 years, but a few years of a new era would do so much to help inject a stale, dying company with some new life. |

I'm sure investors don't want the some of gimmicks and storylines the company was doing during the Attitude Era e.g. anything Val Venis did has no place in this current environment ( ) . Personally, I don't want a rehash of the Attitude Era, instead, I just want a great product that can god forbid make Vince loads of money. But they need to start treating their tv shows like legitimate tv shows. Maybe hiring some writers who have worked on soap operas or say something like SNL, who can write scripts with a limited amount of time to fill content across every tv show including the minor ones. Then they need to hire personnel that are specialists in improv and ad libbing to teach these superstars to work off/away from script. How many of these wrestlers can adjust what they're saying to how a crowd responds to it (maybe they aren't even allowed to do that so I don't know ) . Basically the scripts would be a loose framework for wrestlers to work from but then they need to have the ability adjust on the fly to how crowds react. Engage with the crowd or don't, just do something that gets them emotionally invested in the performance. And if I were Roman Reigns shoes last night, I would have picked up a mic and simply said, "fuck you - this is my moment. not yours." to that Philly crowd. Boom, drop the mic. He probably would have gotten cheers after that. lol

Let's not pretend there weren't awful decisions and moments from around the Attitude Era as well. I will, however, give credit to the company for being way more daring with its content. Which is always a plus, since they were trying different things, and more importantly took risks at almost every opportunity they had. Something that I wished carried over to today's product. |

Huh? I'm usually the one to point out the Attitude Era wasn't all rainbows and sunshine the way folks wax poetic about it. The Rock And Wrestling Era, though, that truly was as great as I like to pretend it was. |
