You know, I was thinking about all those interviews where every single person in the wrestling industry is being asked whether or not they think that Roman Reigns is ready for the main event, and the thing that it really boils down to at the end of the day is this. No matter what they actually say in response to that question, the mere fact that you had to ask it in the first place should automatically give you the answer you need, which is a resounding no. Because, quite frankly, nobody would question it if the guy actually was ready, and that's really all there is to it. Anyways, random thought that randomly came to mind for the random wrestling thread...

^ Sure he can come back whenever he wants, so long as there's no piss test he has to take.
I think he should have gotten the push he deserved years ago. He was so over in 2001/2002
There were so many people over in 2001/2002.

Practically the entire roster were full of stars who should have been pushed. I think the main problem was that there were simply too many people to choose from.
But that's because people knew what they were doing...
It was more a combination of pushing new talent, competition for tv time amongst wrestlers, still being a wrestling promotion at that time, much less backstage politics (i.e. being a private company), not burying talent who get over because they weren't hand picked to get over, etc. etc. etc.
WWE still messed it up back then as well. It's just a lot more forgiveable considering the amount of competition there was for the top spot at the time.

Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle being two prime examples of superstars that deserved way more than what they had been left with. Then again, when you have mega superstars such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H on your roster, you begin to understand why younger talent weren't given much of an opportunity to progress further. Unlike now when John Cena happens to be the only mega superstar that remotely comes close to that kind of popularity. There's really not much of an excuse for why younger talent haven't been pushed in today's product.
Jericho, RVD, etc all were stars and cheered. Now there's just a few babyfaces that actually get cheered

After watching how Lucha Underground treats ever match as a meaningful occurrence, a lot of what WWE did right back then was making matches feel like they meant something and not just filler to kill time.

Well, back then we had Kane electrocuting Shane's balls and raping Lita, Kurt vs Brock, Evolution vs the IWC, and Smackdown vs Raw.

Yeah, so much good came from WWE those years. Hell, going back to 2012 WWE was doing some good then, but ever since Raw 1000 it's been a nosedive.

And yes, I can definitively go back and say it was Raw 1000 that did it in by the treatment of it being just another show and the start of the 3 hour format.

Evolution were great heels, I don't care what anyone says. For crying out loud, Triple H manipulated a mentally retarded Eugene just so he could keep his title! That's true heel work, none of this limp-wristed 'cool heel' bullshit we see for often.

if you take a look at the ppv's 10 years ago and now i think there's a massive change, because there's no middle card anymore or even a lower card. That's completely gone

Roman Reigns recently spoke with MStarz.com.

Below are highlights from the interview:

On preparing for WrestleMania Week: ''It's been pretty cool actually. There's no way to prepare for something like this. You have to be thrown in the fire and fortunately for me I've always responded well when I was thrown in the deep end.''

On facing WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and him re-signing: ''Regarding Brock, as a competitor, it doesn't change my mindset at all. As long as he's there Sunday, it doesn't matter to me. But as a part of WWE and a part of the family, it's good to have Brock locked down. It's good for the WWE, it's good for Brock and its good for his family. It's just where he's supposed to be. Hopefully when I beat him this Sunday, he'll have a few chances to get [the WWE World Heavyweight Championship] back.''

On other WrestleMania matches is he looking forward to watching: ''That's the tough part. I'm probably not gonna be able to [watch on Sunday]. Being in the main event, there's gonna be a lot of time I'll need to be focusing and preparing both mentally and physically. But we have the WWE Network, so I'll easily be able to go on my iPhone and check out everything that happens. We have Sting vs. Triple H, Bray Wyatt vs. the Undertaker, the Intercontinental title ladder match with some of the hungriest, youngest guys in the game. And that's something I'm proud of and something I brag about, the makeup of this locker room. And then on top of that, you have my old partner Seth Rollins taking on the Viper, Randy Orton, so I think that's gonna be a good one as well.''
Oh yes, it's true it's true!

I've bet on Wrestlemania 31. Did a 4-match accumulator where I bet £10 on Sting, Cena, Roman and Undertaker to win. If I'm right (come on) I get £35.

Why not? Would you want fans to say 'That's the move that killed that guy' during your matches?

Because he didn't even perform the move when Perro Aguayo Jr. unfortunately passed away.

If anything, Rey Mysterio's dropkick should be banned.

The autopsy revealed that Perro Aguayo Jr. had C1, C2, and C3 problems prior to the match. Don't be an ass.

It sounded like a combination of many different factors that influenced his unfortunate passing.

-Apparent C1, C2, & C3 issues Perro Aguayo Jr. may have had beforehand.
-The whiplash he received after hitting the ropes as well as the trauma it caused to his neck.
-The amount of time he was on the ropes for (he was basically being strangled by the weight of his own body).
-Sources say the doctor for the show was apparently backstage treating somebody else during the incident.

I honestly don't believe any of this was Rey Mysterio's fault. It was one of those rare occurrences; and for Rey, a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Oh yes, it's true it's true!
