^ One fight and then all the hype disappears along with Punk, who will complain about UFC doctors misdiagnosing an ingrown toenail and prescribing him aspirin for months. |

^Although I have a feeling he might not make it very far in UFC, I believe most of Punk's claims regarding how he was mistreated in WWE were legitimate. |

Considering they're hoping for someone like Austin or HBK to come back for one more match really shows how bad their roster booking is. |

That's self inflicted. They diluted the water with Cena and never let anyone else grow. There's also that there was so much being put out there in the Attitude Era that they blew all those concepts and never saved them for later years and they did that just to destroy WCW. There's nothing WWE can do today that can top the Attitude Era as once you've seen it, it's not new anymore. Sort of like Hell in a Cell matches, HBK-Taker was a classic, Makind-Taker was the peak, and every one after that was tame in comparison. All the guys today compared to the roster in the late 90's-00's is tame in comparison and WWE doesn't have the intellectual capacity to get them close to that level of the Attitude Era guys. |

I disagree. Most of the superstars from the Attitude Era made a name for themselves before they even made it into WWE. Chris Jericho produced fantastic work before he left WCW, hence why he was given such a huge standing ovation (pop) the night when he finally joined the ranks of Vince McMahon & company. Otherwise, nobody in the audience would have cheered Jericho during his infamous début, which suggests most fans knew the name 'Jericho' before he started producing work for WWE. The same can be said for the likes of Guerrero, Taker, Benoit, HHH, The Rock, Mankind, and a whole host of other big names I'm missing out. Hell, Austin made a name for himself before the Attitude Era officially began, and eventually his efforts helped establish the new era. The Attitude Era itself had nothing to do with the success of most of these superstars (IMO), more-so it was WWE's willingness to allow the roster the freedom they needed to grow. But this was taking place well before the aforementioned era was underway -- it just so happens most of WCW's top performers jumped ship before the promotion self-destructed, crossing over to WWE whilst the Attitude Era was in full effect. Hence why there were so many noteworthy superstars around during this specific period. I honestly thought there were a bunch of great/classic Hell in a Cell matches, that arguably reached the same standard, or even topped HBK-Taker/Mankind-Taker. Triple H-Cactus Jack, 6-Man Armageddon, Lesnar-Taker, and HBK-HHH; are ones that spring to mind. I'm sure there are others I've forgotten to mention. |

And before anyone gets confused, I'm not suggesting Undertaker was a huge star in any other promotion, more-so that he already established himself as a top draw in WWE before the Attitude Era was underway. Same goes for HHH & The Rock. Edited by pokajabba, Apr 18 2015, 10:40:29 AM.

Whatever the case poka, WWE can't top the Attitude Era. Just about nobody can. |

so not only is the champ a coward who runs away from every challenge, he's a coward without a finisher. :\ Ah well, it's just as well I guess, given how ineffective finishers have become in general... *sigh* In storyline, perhaps this is Orton's way of one-upping Rollins for banning the RKO in their match? #fuckit |
