CM Punk revealed in a recent interview that he expects to be ready for his UFC debut later this year and sought advice from former WWE Superstar Batista regarding the transition from pro wrestling to MMA. Punk spoke to SBNation.com about his love for the Chicago Cubs, working for Marvel as a comic book writer and more. Punk, who will be writing for Drax The Destroyer (Batista’s Guardians of the Galaxy character), said this about Batista giving him advice: “Oh yeah, absolutely. I’m trying to remember … It might have been a little less than a year ago. I think he was doing a comic con out here in Chicago and he came over just so we could hang out for a little bit. Yeah, I talked to him about it. This was before I made the announcement [that I was signing UFC]. I was heavily thinking about it, so I was — without spilling the beans to him, because I wasn’t sure what I was going to do — I was asking him all kinds of questions. Because he was in the same situation I was in, coming from the pro wrestling background, a little bit older than he probably should have been [starting out], just like I am. So there’s a lot of similarities, so he gave me a lot of advice to help me out.” Punk declined to comment about Jason David Frank continuing to call him out and said he should be ready to make is MMA debut in “about 6 months.” He added that his goal is to get “1% better” each time he trains and thinks he’s on track with that. Two teenage suspects are being sought after in Harper Woods, Michigan after 8 cars were vandalized with the letters DX. According to local ABC affiliate WZYZ, police say the vandals hit a neighborhood near Eastwood and Woodcrest in the area of 8 Mile and Kelly. “Victims were stunned when they found out what happened right in their own driveways.” At this time, there’s no reason to believe Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Sean Waltman or the New Age Outlaws were involved in the incident.
