Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler’s contract is expiring in just a few months and there’s a lot of speculation that he could be leaving the company later this year. Ziggler has been understandably frustrated about the way he’s been booked over the past few years and has been branching out into standup comedy. During a recent episode of MLW Radio, former WWE creative writer Court Bauer commented on the possibility leaving WWE, noting that it’s a similar situation to John Morrison’s departure. At this point with Ziggler, i would let him walk... WWE doesn't need him and can find another person to fit his role (sadly, i see it being Neville or Zayn when healthy) Ziggler can wrestle elsewhere and be a big attraction, but his lack of mic skills creates a cieling for him... Sad part is, Ziggler is legit main-event ready and would fit the top of the card if they just gave him the ball. He's also over as fuck with smarks and everyone else despite not having spent any time on the indies. (I say this because unless you got over in ROH, you have an extra barrier to getting over in WWE; harder for a home-grown guy to make it vs imported talent) The best thing Dolph could do? Leave like Christian did and go to a company that's willing to actually invest in him. I'm thinking NJPW or GFW. (Not counting LU here - Ziggler's great but his gimmick just doesn't feel like a fit there) |

It's funny, I had a dream last night where Ziggler was doing a promo with Triple H and Stephanie and he started shooting on them saying he's been around long enough and proved himself worthy of more and that since WWE didn't have faith in him, he's going to TNA and ROH. After that Triple H and Stephanie give Ziggler the Krispin Wah treatment, even when arenas full of fans are chanting Ziggler. It was weird and I figure Ziggler is leaving soon anyway. There's other places he can go to make a name for himself. |
