Do you guys think Undertaker has physical problems during his matches? Cause he seems to be getting real old
Well I'm sure his body has been permanently beaten up from all the years he's spent in the ring. He cant go at 100% for the entire match anymore, and that shows. Which is a shame because he's a legend.
I honestly think he should retire by doing a match against Sting
... :facepalm2:
For years TGM has believed there should be a 3 way retirement match between Sting, Undertaker, and Terry Funk.

Lance Storm's thought on the "Diva's Revolution" in his latest Q&A:

Quote:

Q: I've heard two schools of thought on the divas revolution. One, that it's a dud and the same formula with different faces, and second, that it's a proverbial "slow burn" and it will get there in due time. Your thoughts?

A: Before I get into my thoughts on what they are doing let me first state that I am a big fan and supporter of women's wrestling and have a great deal of respect for many of the women involved in the "Divas revolution". For the most part I think the Divas Revolution is being screwed and unless they change the way it is being presented it will fail, or at least not succeed to the level it could or more importantly should. To fully understand why you have to look at how the women are presented in NXT and how that enabled them to get over to the level that they did, and then look at how they are being presented in WWE and consider if that will also allow them to get over to that same level.

In NXT they are women wrestlers, they are competing for the NXT Women's Championship; a title belt that looks credible (actually better than the Men's Title in my opinion) and therefore can be respected. We were never told that the women were going to be taken seriously or that they were going to have good matches and be respected. They were just presented on the show in a respectable light, allowed to focus on competing to be a champion, and given enough time to do a good job if they were able. The women worked hard, had good matches, were given good angles, and fans started to care, and they got over. It was in a sense Organic.

In WWE the women are "Divas" a term when used in any other industry is a derogatory term referring to stuck up bitchy women. They compete (occasionally) for the Diva's Title, which is a purple belt with a butterfly on it. At best this looks like a Barbie toy belt and at worst it's derogatory and offensive because of the female sexual euphemism for butterfly. The women in WWE need a new title belt to compete for and in all honesty it needs to be renamed the WWE Women's World Title.

Furthermore coming out and telling us there is a Diva's Revolution and the women are going to be good and important now, was a big mistake. Don't tell us it's going to be good, just let it be good and we will come to that conclusion all on our own, like we did with NXT. Also in NXT each woman was given her turn to be focused on and chase the title. This allowed us to get behind them and follow their journey and struggle, while keeping the focus on becoming Champion. In WWE we are getting 3 groups of 3, which makes it near impossible to focus on the women individually and form an attachment to any of them and it has completely removed the focus on the title and being a champion.

In NXT the women got over one at a time. Paige won the first NXT Women's Title Tournament in a really good match with Emma, which started the ball rolling. When Paige got called up, she was stripped of the title and another tournament was held. Charlotte won this tournament in an awesome match with Nattie, to set her up and get her over. Sasha was then pushed and focused on and she got over, with Becky in a secondary role. Baylee was used to get Charlotte and Sasha over while building her own underdog status. Becky then got the focus and the push and she got over huge even in losing her title challenge (an amazing accomplishment). The long slow build was then finally paid off with Baylee in Brooklyn and we all saw what a great reaction she got winning the title.

Since the start of the Diva's revolution on RAW the title has not been the focus at all. PCB are faces, Team BAD are heels, and Team Bella float back and forth. All are getting wins and losses, no one is moving forwards or backwards and no individual is getting focus on directly. We are constantly being told it's a new era, but to be honest we are just getting slightly longer, slightly better matches, with a few new faces.

When the crowd on RAW in Brooklyn turned on the women's match it wasn't the fault of the crowd nor the fault of the women, it was the way it was presented. In the promo to set up the match Nikki Bella actually said that wins and losses didn't matter and that these muti-diva matches are pointless. She said the only thing that mattered was the Diva's Title and how she will soon be the longest reigning Diva's Champ of all time. How can anyone be surprised or angry that the crowd gave up on the match that followed when they were flat out told before it started that it didn't matter? Furthermore how can we care about Nikki's long title reign when I doubt anyone even remember the last time she defended it?

I do remember both Sasha and Charlotte making Nikki tap out to win tag matches, a fact that wasn't focus on, nor did it earn them a title match. To get this thing over you have to completely overhaul the way in which it is presented, like they did in NXT. You must focus on each woman in turn with a constant focus on the Championship. Unfortunately because they also have to focus on and promote Total Divas, they have to focus on a large group of women, in particularly the Bellas, so this may be impossible. The Bellas have improved a ton over the last couple years and they are more than capable of having good matches, but in my opinion as long as they are being focused on, this will never feel new.

Everything Storm said made sense. So in that sense, what point does women's wrestling in WWE matter? It's not like what we saw at Takeover Brooklyn with Sasha and Bayley was going to be coming to WWE; they're two different entities. WWE's always just going to be watered down version of everything that comes from NXT because everything that goes on WWE has to appeal to the broad masses. I'd like to say something like, "Well, if WWE wants their ratings to go up, they should do more NXT type stuff." The sad fact of that is the only thing that brings ratings is Attitude Era guys like Rock and Austin.

The one thing that I can't say is if WWE really treated and presented women's wrestling and/or the Divas title like it was the US title or the IC title and gave it importance with matches that lasted 12-15 minutes, had feuds between the same two girls for that title that lasted 3 months, and the girls were given proper time to get over individually and not in pointless multiman matches that it could bring higher ratings. Idk if it could, but if WWE doesn't give it a chance, no one will ever know.

Instead, what WWE is likely to do is listen the crowd at Brooklyn or the silence of the crowd from last week with Charlotte and Brie and say, "Oh, it didn't get over. Let's cut our losses now and give up." yet after the reaction Reigns was getting at the Rumble and weeks thereafter, they still went with him vs Lesnar. Why so quick to write off the women Vince, but not Roman Reigns?

Just had an imaginary conversation with Vince McMahon and heres how it went:

Vince: Aw, the Divas Revolution angle isn't getting over. Let's have Nikki beat Charlotte, Becky, and Paige in a gauntlet match and wrap it up. We'll give Charlotte a Nature Girl gimmick and we'll make Becky a nun.

Me: Hold on, wait a minute. Why are you giving up on the Divas so quickly?

Vince: Well, didn't you hear the boos and the silent crowd? They don't like it, we have to give them something they do like.

Me: They didn't like it because there's nothing to like about another meaningless 6 woman tag match or a match that only lasts two minutes. Beat the clock challenges suck anyway, in this instance it would have been much better to go with the usual battle royal to determine a #1 contender. In fact, here's and idea: have the finish be disputed between Sasha and Charlotte and resolve it in a match between the two on Smackdown in a match that gets some real time to be worked.

Vince: But, Smackdown is for our midcard guys. We can't deprive them of their time!

Me: Oh, yeah those midcard guys and the same midcard matches that have made Smackdown's ratings tank for the past six years? C'mon, if you put a majority of the women on Smackdown to work full length matches for tapings, you give them the chance to get over on their own and take away the stress of working on live Raws. If they fuck up, edit it out.

Vince: You want me to make Smackdown a women's show? Then the ratings really will tank.

Me: The ratings are already as low as they can go because it's the same old shuck and jive that it's been for years. Putting the women on there and featuring them prominently gets them over better than tag matches. If you put Sasha and Charlotte in the main event...

Vince: MAIN EVENT! On Smackdown, that's preposterous. Now, putting them on Main Event however...

Me: NO! Let me finish. Put those two girls in the main event on Smackdown and make the match last 20 mins, people will talk about it and you know what will happen? People will have watched it the next week to see another women's main event for Nikki Bella's title that goes 15 mins with Charlotte winning and then they'd watch again for the rematch the next week and at Night of Champions. The ratings for Smackdown would explode because people would be watching something they've never seen before: women's wrestling that's booked like men's wrestling.

Me: Then you can start putting women's matches on those boring ass 3 hour Raws and people will be into it.

The thing about the divas revolution is that it can be good. When it first began the crowds were into it. At one point Paige said that Ronda Rousey is leading the charge of female athletes gaining more interest, and they can use that to bring attention to the divas revolution. However, as Lance Storm said its a confusing mess. There are no real rivalries, the title takes a backseat, they formed their groups but all come across as catty and like they are acting out in a high school drama. The teams all feel thrown together and just because they hug each other doesnt make us care about their so called "friendships". There's just no reason to care about any of it.

WWE has reported that Lana was injured during training earlier today in Virginia. Lana was found to have fractured a bone in her wrist and it is usually required to have surgery to repair with the usual amount of time to heal taking four months.

Sucks for Lana personally, but this could either be a good or a bad thing. Good in the sense that we'll no longer get the mixed gender tag match at the next ppv. Instead we can just get Rusev vs Ziggler 1 on 1. It will be bad though if all this shit continues until Lana heals up and then they do the big tag match.

How this should be booked is make it a story that Ziggler broke Lana's wrist when he got mad at her. This makes jealous Rusev angry at Ziggler for hurting Lana. At the NOC, hav Lana come back in Ziggler's corner where Ziggler loses to Rusev and Ziggler gets mad at Lana for not helping him. Have Ziggler slap Lana around a bit and while Rusev is near the top of the ramp, he sees Lana being abused, runs back to the ring and decks Ziggler.

Double turn, Lana and Rusev back together, Ziggler goes back to being a heel again, which he's better at.

The double turn could work, but there's no way I see them doing, let alone even hinting that man on woman violence occurred. Sure there's been segments recently where you think Rusev might do something to Lana, but nothing ever comes close to happening.

And this is why nobody gives a shit about this lover's quarrel feud: it's stupid shit with characters that nobody has any attachment to. If you had Ziggler smack Lana across the face a bit, people will be shocked, they'll hate Ziggler and when Rusev does the save, he's an instant babyface whose turn doesn't fall flat.

But, WWE creatively stifles their storylines and we're stuck with Poo Poo Ca Choo.

Former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree recently appeared on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast and made some controversial statements about concussions in wrestling and. Dupree, a former WWE tag team champion, says his “brains being scrambled” due to suffering 25 concussions while working for WWE – and called out Bubba Ray Dudley for being reckless in the ring.

Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Concussions Ending His Wrestling Career: “I’m pretty much done with the whole wrestling game. I’d like to do the convention circuit so I don’t have to take any bumps because my brains are so scrambled from throughout the years that it’s starting to affect me and starting to affect my daily life. Now that I am getting older, it started when I was around 27, I started forgetting stuff, I had twenty-five concussions just within WWE. You think about well I have so many, not really when you work a full time schedule and I was there for 5 1/2 years and when you wrestle what 150- 250 matches a year to have four or five concussions a year do you think that’s highly unlikely? No, that’s normal.”

Did The Dudley Boyz Take “Liberties” In The Ring?: “Does a bear sh*t in the woods? Oh my God. I’ve had so many concussions from Bubba Ray Dudley it’s not even funny. You know Chris Nowinski had to retire because of Bubba Ray giving him concussions right? Devon, it’s universal everyone likes Devon because he’s a pro, but Bubba can be difficult to work with.”

What he thinks led to The Dudleyz leaving WWE in 2005: “One time in the ring, Sly screwed up a spot and then Bubba punched him in the face and bloodied his nose and Sly asked him why backstage and Bubba went off and punched him in the face again. Sylvan was very good friends with Pat Patterson and they weren’t around shortly thereafter. The WWE Developmental process and the Performance Center: Who have they developed since they’ve had that Performance Center? The ones that will become stars are the ones that will prove themselves elsewhere. Quite frankly there is not too many place to go and learn but the ones that show the heart and determination and the love for it, not some f*cking ex-football player that twisted his ankle in camp and can’t play in the NFL anymore, not some underwear model or some bodybuilder. The ones that will make it and will get over and will put up with their bullsh*t quite frankly are the guys that love it.”

Former WWE Superstars suing WWE for negligence in relation to injuries: “I don’t know anything of it but I can tell you from experience that, yeah there is definitely or at least there was. I don’t know about now, I think they are trying to cover their tracks. I have no opinion of it. What happens, happens and I just want to stay clear from that place.”

WWE’s spotty track record with the health of wrestlers: “I personally got knocked out one night. I was wrestling Rob Van Dam and he hit me with a spin kick and I was out for five hours. I was out on my feet for five and half hours! I didn’t get no concussions tests. I didn’t even go to a doctor. After a concussion you are not supposed to go to sleep, well I woke up in my bed and Sylvan called me up and said you got kicked in the head and don’t worry about it. You know how long I waited until I got back in the ring? I was back in the next night. Remember the Bob Holly Incident? I got kicked about fifth-teen or twenty times in the f*cking head with a wrestling boot. You know how hard the sole of a wrestling boot is? It’s like a steel-toed boot. Did I go get a concussion test. No. Did I go to a doctor? Yes, but just to see if anything was broken around my eye.”

I always thought his career ending concussion came from the Royal Rumble match where Edge accidentally landed on his face.

About that botch Waltman did against Razor Ramon, man that looked horrible. Also shows you how quick these guys were, Hebner included, about coming up with something off the cuff when accidents happen. I just don't think today's guys are that creative because they're so constrained to not think for themselves.
