Launching in the US February 24. Some details here. The first PPV that will be shown on the network will be Wrestlemania 30. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/wwe-set-launch-own-247-network-february Obviously I've been gushing over this ever since the conference started and I think and it's a sign of WWE beginning to get with the times. They know that tons of people will stream their pay-per-views for free, but with this some of those streamers will be giving the WWE money to watch the shows legally. It will probably make WWE more money in the long run. I hope we get some old AWA, WCCW, etc stuff too. Didn't WWE strike some sort of agreement with AJPW? Throwing some of their old stuff on the network would be cool. |

Makes sense to finally do this but may be a little late. They have large library of content at their disposal but wrestling is moving back into niche product, more so a niche product for kids. But if what you guys are saying is true about the content they plan to air, then just maybe this channel will be something to bring back those wrestling fans WWE has driven away. |

This WWE Network seems more geared towards hardcore fans than to expand the WWE to a greater casual audience. This sounds like a very good deal to me, as most ppv's in the US cost $50, up to $60 for Mania. To spend $120 a year and get all the ppv's, Raw, SD, Legends House and other programming is a deal that everybody and their Amish neighbor should not turn down. Now, how do I pay for this thing? |
