Maybe if there was anything interesting to talk about the wrestling section of the forum would be thriving with activity. Much like it was back when WWEv/WOTU first joined together, and before then during the time they were still separate entities from one another - particularly in 2011, 2012, and a large chunk of 2013. Hell, the latter half of 2013, and a decent portion of 2014 was still somewhat able to hold my interest. The only real reason I use this section of the board any more is because I enjoy reading each member's posts. But even that energy can slowly begin to wane when there's nothing interesting coming out of WWE. I mean, I got bored complaining about the product in about late 2014. There's only so much winging I can do before it becomes a tedious 'everyday' routine. Hence why you haven't seen any effort from me to talk or moan about wrestling in quite some time. I'm just waiting for that pivotal 'spark' to happen, that moment when the forum suddenly erupts with anticipation, and a real sense of urgency to switch the channel over to WWE each week becomes the new norm. That's not to say there aren't other promotions to be excited for, but unfortunately it's a lot more difficult to keep track with those other wrestling shows. At least for someone in my position, anyway. Take for instance NXT, which seems to have gained a lot more interest on the forum, and sadly this started to happen just as I ran out of money to keep watching it. Which means I'm currently missing out on something that I genuinely enjoyed and wanted to contribute towards - just as it was becoming popular. I must admit it really is nice to see members of the forum satisfied with a PPV for a change. That's the sort of energy and universal contentment I miss most of all. In my honest opinion, nowadays almost anything is better than sitting through full episodes of Raw and Smackdown, which includes reading + sharing random Twitter posts from the internet. I get more joy out of reading comments from each wrester's personal channels than I do from watching 3-hour long shows that are supposedly dedicated to their growth as performers. Which is pretty messed up when you think about it.  Perhaps I'm just becoming more cynical and disinterested as time goes on. I don't know, but something doesn't feel right.

Apparently Bill DeMott's daughter died in a car accident this weekend. She was only 20 years old. As much as I dislike the man and his actions over the years, that's pretty heartbreaking news. Nobody deserves to suffer through that sort of grief. |
