Look, you guys read the same things I did about what Demott was accused of down in NXT. The guy is fucking scum. It sucks his daughter lost his life, it's her and her friends and family not named Bill Demott I have sympathy for. Why all of a sudden you guys have empathy for a piece of shit like him beats me, he doesn't deserve any of it. |

Cause as far as we were ever told he only verbally harassed, physically harassed, and put people through rough hazing during his time as trainer. Yes, he abused his power and took things way too far. However, you also had some people stick up for the guy, Jericho in particular, who said things that while DeMott was rough it was how he learned in the old school style. Which as we all can see no longer has a place in today's business. We heard DeMott was an asshole, not that he committed mass genocide. Be happy he lost his job, but a daughter is a lot more terrible thing to lose. |

It's also only natural for humans to feel a degree of empathy towards other people in situations such as these, even if the person in question was rotten to the core. I'd like to think this is what separates us from them: being able to recognise what they have done wrong, whilst also not repeating the same mistakes in the process. If all these disgusting stories are true, regarding Bill DeMott inflicting misery to up and comers by verbally/physically abusing them, then why would anyone who truly cares about the situation WANT more suffering to happen. Surely that just lowers them down to his sort of level. In which case, nothing has been learned from the situation, and the process just keeps repeating itself over and over again. By following his example they would have become the very thing they hate. I found most of James Hellwig's (AKA - The Ultimate Warrior) political views revolting, and a part of me didn't really like him outside of his wrestling persona. That doesn't necessarily mean I wanted him to pass away or undergo any sort of anguish, though. I was just as shocked as anyone when the news of his death broke out, and also found it incredibly sad. If I could go back and change this from ever happening, I probably would. Even though I'm fully aware he made a lot of people feel bad about themselves. The same way I wouldn't want Steve Austin to suffer just because he physically abused his partner many years ago. Otherwise, I'm only proving I'm just as bad as they were. |

That is actually a good analogy. I'd say for me a lot of it is habit and hope. They have the all the pieces they need to be a better product, but they just don't use them in the proper way. There's that hope that they will figure it out. |
