Wrestling legend Kurt Angle called into Mark Madden's Pittsburg-based radio show yesterday afternoon on 105.9 The X. According to several fans tweeting about the appearances, Angle was quoted saying, “I am coming back, I just don’t know when.” Angle added that he spoke to Triple H 6 weeks ago regarding a possible return. I can understand you lack of excitement because an Angle return would no doubt cut into the TV time the Usos get, and the much talked about dream match between Angle and Daniel Bryan is completely off the table now. But I still think he would bring some positives. There's been talk about a new Team Angle with American Alpha, which would be fun if it meant the return of a more goofy, milk drinking Kurt Angle to help those guys along. Plus I think he could deliver some good matches with Rollins, Cesaro, Owens, Zayn, Ziggler etc. We're not talking about Goldberg here, we're talking about a guy that's pretty much always delivered. |

Exactly. Angle has the drive to go back to WWE to PREFORM. He's an Olympian and his work ethic is top notch, just look at the effort he put in his last matches in TNA... TNA! Angle doesn't seem to care where he is, he wants to make his next match better than his last and that's kind of his problem: he only knows one speed and that's 110%. Angle's got to accept his own limits and in that, he needs to be a part timer like Lesner, but I think Angle would need to do 5-10 minute matches on Raw occasionally. I've been looking forward to Angle in WWE again for 5-6 years now and I'm disappointed WWE never jumped on the idea for a surprise Rumble return when they were in Pittsburgh and Philly back to back years. Angle has a drawing potential and I think if Angle never goes back to WWE, they're going to leave him out of the HOF until after he croaks because there's something between Angle and somebody in WWE who just can't bury the shovel with, somebody who was out entertained by Angle on a weekly basis for 6 years straight. |

Court Bauer over at MLW Radio has provided an exclusive update on the incident involving Paige following Sunday’s Money in the Bank PPV in Las Vegas. On episode 232 of MLW Radio (co-hosted by Mister Saint Laurent & Konnan), Bauer detailed what actually went down, as told to him by Alberto Del Rio. After Money in the Bank, Paige & Del Rio went out to a show. There was a drunk couple at the venue heckling them, which led ADR to call over security. The rowdy couple was ejected and they went on with their night. When the show let out, that same couple was waiting for them outside. An altercation occurred and Paige was physically involved. As per multiple reports, Paige ran into the street. Police were close by and quickly got the situation under control. Paige was handcuffed and taken for an evaluation. She was cleared and no arrest was made. The general feeling from the ‘powers that be’ is that the incident was handled properly. She wrestled against Charlotte the next night on RAW and was part of the Sasha Banks return angle, so it doesn’t seem like any disciplinary action will be taken. On this day waaaay back in 1996 Steve Austin won the King of the Ring and was totally jobbed to eternity.. I mean he cut an awesome promo and started his rise to the top. So WWE made a video of superstars reenacting that promo, with Ziggler getting major props for actually getting Hayes in there as well. But then Big Cass got his own video where he does pretty much the entire promo, and he may be doing his best Austin impression, but it just shows his weakness at cutting promos. |

Former WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan spoke with The Daily World to promote his role as co-host of WWE’s new Cruiserweight Classic series, which premieres on the WWE Network Wednesday, July 13th. Even though it’s been several months since his official retirement from the ring, it’s still difficult for him to embrace the fact that his in-ring career is over. He’s been at the WWE Performance Center this week meeting the Cruiserweight Classic competitors and will be calling the action at tonight’s CWC tapings from Full Sail, but says it’s “borderline painful” to be around wrestling. “It has been good, but it is weird, because my life had been so busy before retirement.” he said. “Now, you have all of this extra space and time. Because I was forced into retirement and not wanting to retire, I have to keep my mind away from wrestling. It is borderline painful. OK, so how do you fill your mind when you have filled it with this one thing for so long?” During his time away from active competition, Bryan has been keeping busy with new hobbies, including gardening, taking classes at Arizona State University and Olympic weightlifting. Despite his efforts to move on, the reality of his situation has still not fully sunk in. “I’ve experimented with gardening. I love it, but you don’t love it like that,” he said. “A part of my mind hasn’t accepted it. I wake up sometimes with dreams of wrestling. This literally happened to me (the night before the speech). I was in Las Vegas and I flew in. I woke up this morning from a dream where I was going to wrestle and I’m not. I have to remind myself at times.” “Realistically, no one should feel bad for me. It's not his weakness, it's WWE and the way they cut promos today. WWE has had this inversion the past 20 years where the wrestlers has improved greatly, but the promos have gotten worse where it was the exact opposite in the mid 90's. |

Despite rumors of his return, it sounds like Kurt Angle will not be coming back to WWE. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that the Olympic gold medalist won’t be working for WWE again any time soon. Meltzer says that WWE officials confirmed on Thursday that Angle will not be joining the company for their upcoming brand split. Angle stirred up the rumors on Monday during Mark Madden’s Pittsburgh radio show, saying that he had talked to Triple H and a deal was in place. The story grew to the point where there were even rumored start dates for Angle. Angle, 47, finished up his TNA contract in March of this year, and hasn’t worked with WWE since August of 2006. After leaving the company on bad terms in May, Cody Rhodes and WWE are reportedly in talks about working together again in some capacity. PWInsider.com reports that WWE has reached out to Cody Rhodes about possibly signing a Legends deal. The deal likely wouldn’t include any appearances, but would allow WWE to continue selling merchandise with his likeness. Rhodes is booked to wrestle Kurt Angle on August 27th at the Dutchess Stadium in Wappingers Falls, New York. He recently took to Twitter to comment on WWE bringing back the Clash of Champions, which was a name and concept his father Dusty created for TBS in the late 80’s.
