Kurt Angle was among the wrestlers who took issue with Conor McGregor calling most WWE stars out for being soft. Angle recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to issue a challenge to McGregor, but not to a fight.

“Take five bumps with me in the ring. Just five bumps,” Angle challenged McGregor. “When I did that for the first time, I took three and said, ‘F— this, I’m quitting.’ I quit for a couple days and my manager talked me into going back. I know how Dana White and Conor continue to bash the business, but I challenge either of them to get in the ring with me and take five bumps.”

McGregor said during a recent UFC media call that he’d “slap the head off your [WWE] entire roster. And twice on Sunday’s.” Angle mentioned Dolph Ziggler as one WWE star who could “give Conor a good run for his money” if he had the right training camp. The Olympic gold medalist vouched for Ziggler’s amateur wrestling abilities, and thinks Ziggler would need six months of preparation to compete with McGregor.

Another name that came up was John Cena. Angle feels that Cena would “tap in twenty seconds” in MMA, but that he’s still the “biggest badass” he knows for his professional accomplishments.

“[Cena] has been on top for thirteen years. No one has ever done that,” Angle said. “He’s now in his fourteenth year on top. I couldn’t do it. Hulk Hogan didn’t do that, Stone Cold had four or five years tops, and it was the same with The Rock before he went to Hollywood. From a toughness standpoint, there is nobody tougher than John Cena. I would love to see Conor McGregor try to be on top of WWE for thirteen years. He wouldn’t make it.”

I think its a work on his part to get his name out there to hype up his upcoming fight. If he can get wrestling fans upset then maybe they'll buy the UFC PPV with hopes he'll get his ass kicked.

I don't think wrestling fans give enough of a shit to pay money for a UFC ppv. People may have been that stupid 15+ years ago, but we know now that spending money is exactly what they want.

WWE is reportedly considering to include LGBT characters into the product. I'm sure you know what I think and here's what I hate most about this: it's way too forced. When Goldust debuted as a gay or bi molester, it was meant to be a joke and be a creepy thing he did to freak out his opponents. Billy and Chuck weren't actually gay, Rico was... something, and Brock and Kurt never kissed on live TV.

I don't have an issue with IRL gay/lesbo/bi wrestlers having their real life orientations incorporated into onscreen characters, but I don't like non-LGBT wrestlers given LGBT gimmicks.

As for the transgender wrestlers, I want no part of that. WWE just made the women a respectable little promotion within WWE. Throwing in trannies would turn it into a joke and also, if you looked at it realistically, you can't say that a woman is physically equal to a transgender man.

Real interesting interview with Cody Rhodes. Seems like a real interesting individual, with a real unique perspective on things:

Former WWE Superstar CM Punk spoke with Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97 on Monday to promote tonight’s premiere of “Evolution of Punk,” the Fox Sports 1 documentary series looking at his journey to the UFC octagon.

Rosenberg asked Punk what he thought about Conor McGregor talking trash about WWE Superstars. Punk says he hasn’t really been following it too closely. Knowing the WWE locker room, is there anybody Punk thinks that Conor McGregor shouldn’t mess with? Punk said there’s some tough guys in wrestling. Rosenberg asked if you have to be tough in the WWE locker room and Punk said, “Not anymore.” It’s a different world and a different business from even the time that he worked there.

The thing that shocked Punk the most about the Conor McGregor situation was the number of WWE personalities who got worked and should have known better. He said it’s embarrassing to be fighting on social media.

Elaborating on what was different about WWE when he was first coming up, Punk said there were far more main event caliber performers, including Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Batista, Edge, Chris Benòit and The Hardy Boyz.

Despite the success he achieved in WWE not just in the ring but on the microphone, Punk said he does not miss cutting promos in front of millions of people and isn’t even sure if he could do it anymore.

He loves training for his UFC debut and will probably take a vacation after his fight next month. Punk said his wife AJ isn’t freaked out about him stepping in the cage, she just doesn’t like that he’s not around every day.

Samoa Joe recently shared his thoughts on Conor McGregor and the headlines he has been making with his negative comments about WWE Superstars, including calling John Cena “a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f*cker.”

Samoa Joe says McGregor is simply a promoter and trying to generate interest for his fight at UFC 202, which coincidentally takes place the same night as as NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II.

“I have come up with fighters my whole life, so I understand the one thing about fighters is with all the talk they do, there is action,” Joe said. “And until I see some action I think the comments he has made are very much a moot point.

“What do you expect? This is the promotion business, and he was promoting his fight. People are rabid and angry, but people also pay someone beat someone up or get beat up. So if he sold a few extra pay-per-view buys from WWE fans that paid to watch him get beat up, then I guess its mission accomplished.”

The sports channel here was doing its nightly recap and showed highlights from a New York Yankees/Toronto Blue Jays game, but before the game they showed Enzo and Big Cass doing a little promo, I suppose you could call it. They weren't speaking to the crowd, instead they were just talking to the camera hyping up the Yankees. The surprising thing is even though it was brief Cass showed some personality. He obviously wasn't scripted here so he could act like himself, and he didn't come across as nervous as he usually does in front of the large live crowds of Raw. So maybe there is a chance for him to improve and be more comfortable on the mic.

Oh, and Cass also had one word for the Jays, but I bet you won't be able to guess what it was. ;)

http://www.wwe.com/article/alberto-del-rio-suspended?sf33614525=1

"WWE has suspended Jose Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy."

This is the second person I hate to be suspended this year. Pulling for Miz to finish off the trifecta.
unius diei extremo tempore revertetur

4 Time WOTU Champion
6 Time WOTU Tag Team Champion
3 Time WOTU Intercontinental Champion
1 Time WOTU X-Division Champion (Last One)
1 Time WOTU Hardcore Champion (Last One)

Won the 2013 Battleground RT, 2016 Fastlane RT, and 2017 Battleground RT.

I remember reading that Del Rio had an option in his contract to opt out of it if he chooses, and there was debate going on if he would do so. I wonder now with this suspension if he will in fact leave the company again.

I don't think they'd ever say Miz failed a test. They would just claim he's off filming some shitty movie.
