Becky Lynch will be returning to action earlier earlier than expected. The SmackDown Women’s Champion has been out dealing with an undisclosed health issue, but WWE is now advertising her for Tuesday’s SmackDown in Green Bay.

James Ellsworth might be sticking around WWE longer than originally expected.

After becoming a cult favorite this summer after getting squashed by Braun Strowman, the lovable underdog has picked up two consecutive wins over WWE Champion AJ Styles. Ellsworth is very liked backstage and there’s been a push behind the scenes for WWE to sign him to a full-time deal. We’ve been hearing this over the past week and PWInsider picked up the story on Monday morning.

His online popularity and the strong sales of his first WWE t-shirt have also gotten the attention of management. There had been some speculation that Ellsworth would make a cameo in the Royal Rumble, but now it’s looking like he could be a regular character on SmackDown.

Da Capo Press, the publisher of Chris Jericho’s next book, “No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling But Succeeded in Life,” has released this blurb about the title to various media outlets and via Google Books:

Six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and renaissance man Chris Jericho explains his secrets to success in his trademark writing styleridiculous stories, hilarious referencesshowing how a small-town Canadian kid made his seemingly impossible dreams come true, against all odds.

Organized around 22 principles, “No Is a Four-Letter Word” outlines Jericho’s guidelines to achieving your dreams and making it to the top, explaining how his encounters with legendary musicians, actors, and wrestlers influenced each principle. Whether it’s learning how to make any situation work to his benefit, spending money to make money, understanding to always sell himself, or letting go of losing the gig of a lifetime, Jericho takes you with him on his journey up success’s ladder and shows you how to apply these principles to your own life.”

As you can see, this is a self-help book and not the latest in his series of autobiographies. It’s listed as 224 pages with a release date of Feb 7, 2017, though it’s not available for pre-order as of this writing.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with some thoughts on a potential AJ Styles vs. Shawn Michaels dream match. It’s important to clarify that there are zero credible reports of this match actually happening or Michaels ever wrestling again.

With the 2017 Royal Rumble taking place from the Alamo Dome in Michaels’ home town of San Antonio and WWE looking to pack over 60,000 fans in the stadium – some fans have speculated that a Styles vs. Michaels dream match could help make the show a success. That said, time for the speculation. JR thinks the odds of this match happening are a “definite long shot,” but expressed optimism that anything could happen if WWE reached out to Michaels looking for help selling out the Rumble.

“The odds of Shawn Michaels wrestling at the Royal Rumble vs AJ Styles is a definite long shot as HBK has stressed to me on multiple occasions including the Ross Report podcast that he’s done with in ring activities in the wrestling biz. However, Shawn is a ‘company man’ and if WWE really needed a main event that could move a large amount of tickets in San Antonio at the Alamo Dome, I think that HBK would consider the company’s request. Without question, a Michaels vs Styles match in San Antonio at the Royal Rumble would be coveted by all involved if it were to occur. I’d realistically put the odds of this main event happening at less than 50-50 but I’d love to be wrong on this one.”

Styles himself recently commented on the hypothetical dream match. During an interview with Sports Illustrated, the WWE World Champion said he’d love to work with Michaels, but there’s no concrete evidence to get excited just yet.

“I’d love to learn from him, but who’s to say if that’s going to happen,” AJ explained. “Right now, it’s all speculation and rumors that I’m finding out like everyone else is, but man, what a match that would be.”

WWE took away Curtis Axel signs at a show last night. I tweeted Vince McMahon that if the confiscating of signs doesn't stop, I'm unsubscribing from the WWE Network.

That'll make him shake in his loafers.

I do apologize, I thought Curtis Axel was under contract with TNA.

I'm sure they confiscate Axel signs all the time. They only happened to notice it this time because it was in his hometown/home state.

There's no point bringing a sign during this era of wrestling. Besides you wouldn't want to show up the WWE by having a sign that is more creative than their product. :P

I'd revise that statement and say there's no point in going to the shows in this era of wrestling. You get your signs taken away, you get muted when you boo people you don't like who WWE wants to push and get over as a popular babyface, the people you do cheer and support get jobbed and treated like shit. That wasn't the way it was back in the Attitude Era where a guy like Kurt Angle was put on the fastrack to superstardom because of fan support. If Angle debuted today, he'd probably have been jobbed out to Roman Reigns within a month and slapped by Stephanie McMahon, then disappear from Raw only to be seen wondering around on house shows in meaningless 6 man tag matches.

Vince McMahon said WWE is “open for business” in regards to a potential sale of the company today during the third quarter earnings call.

An investor mentioned the recent UFC sale and the Time Warner/AT&T merger, then asked Vince is they would be open to selling WWE. Vince said the company is open to anything because they are business people but controlling their own destiny is very important.

Vince said he’s unsure of how much control they would lose if they were absorbed and the company is currently focused on creating their own content but he is open to listening to offers, especially an offer the company couldn’t refuse.

The same investor then asked if WWE would be interested in selling if they received an offer that would let them control that destiny. Vince reiterated: “We’re open for business.”

Yeah, I wouldn't go to a televised WWE event these day but I'll still go to house shows though. Tbh I believe I have gotten more bang for my buck at the house shows I've been to over any tv events (including the one ppv I went to that everyone should have forgotten by now :P ) I've attended.

And yeah WWE's current shenanigans stink but what else should we expect from a shit company. It's like they went from batting .500 in 1999 to .150 in 2016 and they aren't even self-aware in realizing how utterly useless their new swing is. Just step up to the plate and take some sweet chin music to the face you useless idiots.

Maybe I don't recall all the details but I don't remember Kurt having a lot of fan support in those early days. I know when he debuted he was the role model American hero with his 3 I's, but he was booed heavily for this. So then he became more of a heel and put down the city/their sports teams and said they could look up to him instead.

I think he was originally pushed because he was an Olympic gold medalist, but nobody really cared about that.
