When asked about Kurt Angle, Ross said he would certainly endorse WWE doing business with the Olympic gold medalist again. “For him to come back for a one-off, a WrestleMania match, coinciding with a Hall of Fame induction, something along those lines – I think would be great promotion, and the fans would probably embrace that idea. He may be the last guy out there we could name that would fit the bill of the returning, conquering hero back in the fold for a one-off.” During a recent appearance on the Steve Austin Show podcast, Angle revealed he still has plans to wrestle for WWE at least one more time. “Next year I plan on going back somewhere. I don’t know where yet, but I wanted to keep myself mentally sharp,” Angle said. “I booked my matches this year; one against Rey Mysterio, with Cody Rhodes. I have another one coming up with Alberto Del Rio, and Joe Coffey. I had a match with Zack Sabre Jr, who is in the Cruiserweight tournament. He’s a very talented kid.” He finished, “These guys I pretty much picked, knowing I would be able to wrestle these talented kids, before I attempt to most likely come back to WWE,” so Angle is still leaving the door open for a return. Ooh-la-la. Funny enough, months ago I had a dream that my WOTU roundtable girlfriend, Japanese wrestler Makoto, and I are at my Grandfather's house and for some reason, good ole Dwayne Johnson is there. So, I leave them alone while I go somewhere to get something and when I come back Makoto is bent over getting a pumping with the People's Strudel. And I've hated Rock IRL ever since he fucked my fake girlfriend in a dream months ago.

On one hand that's good for him that he turned a random one-off appearance into a job, and it's probably a dream come true. But on the other hand I don't see them ever using him for more than an opportunity for JBL and Otunga to make jokes about him.

I don't really agree with Don Tony, but not just because he's a clown, but the other guy who talks at the end really nails the point. He says that Goldberg was a guy created by the company and force fed down people's throats, but because he was a WCW guy and not NWO or whatever the people took to him. And he got over. It doesn't matter if he didn't pay his dues because he became molten hot and got over. It doesn't matter if he was never a fantastic wrestler he still got over. The biggest difference between Goldberg and Roman is the era they are in. Goldberg is a product of his era. By today's standard he most definitely would not work, just like Roman doesn't really work. But I think Roman now gets boo'd not because of his perceived lack of ring skills but because he was being pushed as Cena 2.0 and people just got tired of seeing him. He gets X-Pac Heat.

What I don't understand is how he's still getting the reactions he's receiving now, considering how much "smarter" today's audience is compared to yesteryear, when, ignoring Roman for a second and looking at other similar examples, other guys who had similarly successfully gotten themselves over with fans, guys such as Batista (another guy who, while lacking in certain areas, is about a million times better both in the ring and on the mic than Goldberg), can't make a comeback without getting booed out of the building.

Dave Meltzer addressed these reports in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, claiming that there has in fact been discussion within WWE of putting ‘Taker and Styles against each other. However, Meltzer noted that there may be a timing issue in setting the match up for January. The Undertaker recently underwent hip surgery, and is still currently going through rehab to recover. Meltzer says it’s possible that ‘Taker won’t be medically cleared to wrestle before the January 29th pay-per-view. The 2017 Royal Rumble takes place in The Undertaker’s home state of Texas at the at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
