Chris Jericho was interviewed by Chris Smith of Forbes recently. During the interview, Jericho commented on how much longer his current WWE run will last:

“We’re getting ready to put out a new Fozzy record, and I can’t do wrestling and music at the same time. So I think this [wrestling] run is pretty much winding down at this point.” That shouldn’t be too much of a surprise – Jericho announced Fozzy’s May tour dates three weeks ago – but Jericho makes it sound like this next break could be a long one: “It’s time to take a break from wrestling and work on some of these other things that have been on the back burner and are starting to come to fruition.”

Jericho also added that he is willing to come back to the WWE in the future:

“If there’s a tour of Japan or a tour of Australia, I’ll go if I’m free. If there’s a weekend I’m free, I’ll do it in Peoria or Lakeland, Florida. It doesn’t matter to me how big or small the shows are, because they all count. I still enjoy it, and when it’s time for me to come back, if that time comes and when that time comes, then I’ll come back the same way I always do.”

Jericho is also working on his fourth autobiography and still hosts his podcast Talk Is Jericho. Jericho has made a bunch of returns to the WWE and some of them have only been for house shows. While always excellent, Jericho’s current WWE runs has included some of his best work. Time will tell when Jericho’s current run comes to an end, but hopefully we get to see another one of his triumphant returns to the WWE in the near future.

It’s official: Matt Hardy has been #FIXED. During an appearance on “Raw Talk” last night Matt dropped many of the “Broken” mannerisms his character had been using.

Multiple Hardy family members have offered storyline explanations for his reverting back to his old self. It should be noted that Matt has left room for a return of the character at some point however.

Reby Hardy also offered up the following:

[twitter=https://twitter.com/RebyHardy/status/849110757186949121]

It appears both Reby and Matt are trying to communicate that Matt’s successful expedition of gold has temporarily fixed his condition. Both are leaving plenty of room for the return of the characters in their tweets.

Why Not Use the #BROKEN Gimmick?

There are two possible scenarios as to why WWE is not going to run with the gimmick immediately despite its popularity. The first, and most plausible scenario, is that Vince would rather just bring back the old Hardys, as they did with the Dudleys last year. The second scenario is that Anthem’s legal challenge on the gimmick has WWE afraid to go down that route.

Once the nostalgia factor wears off for the Hardys in WWE, it will be interesting to see where the company goes with both Matt and Jeff.

At least they're trying to explain it. Maybe they can re-break Matt on their own down the line.

Simon Gotch has been released. Apparently it was mutual.

No big loss there.

I hope that Aiden English can be repackaged into something more serious and given a better partner as I don't mind English as a talker.

It appears Mauro Ranallo’s days as a WWE announcer are over. According to a report at CBS Sports, Ranallo is not expected to appear on camera for the remainder of his WWE contract, which runs through August 12th, 2017.

Mauro Ranallo has missed the past few weeks of Smackdown and was also absent for Wrestlemania 33. Tom Phillips has served as Ranallo’s replacement during his absence. The first episode of Smackdown Ranallo missed was blamed on travel issues related to a snowstorm. The following week, WWE said he was sick.

Ranallo has been very open about his continuing battle with depression and bipolar disorder. It has been speculated that has been the reason from his absence on Smackdown and Wrestlemania. Mauro has discussed depression and has also made the effort to encourage those that have the same illness to keep fighting.

In the weeks following his departure from WWE television, rumors began circulating that backstage bullying by fellow announcer John Bradshaw Layfield contributed to Ranallo’s latest episode. Former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts’ new book details JBL’s backstage hazing, which JBL has denied.

Ranallo is a tremendous talent and his unique brand of commentary will be missed from WWE television. He announced earlier this week that he’s returning to the announcer’s booth later this month, but not for WWE. He’ll be calling the action for Showtime Boxing later this month from the Barclays Center (4/22).

The one bright spot of WWE commentary now heading out the door. There's no continuous improvement in this company, just continuous disaster and fuck ups.

I hope WWE doesn't get renewed by NBC next time the contract talks happen.

Good news is that means no more 4 man Smackdown commentary team but the bad news is that Otunga is still one of the remaining 3.
