Whilst it's understandable how Austin might believe leaving the company back in 2003 was a mistake, most wrestlers would kill to have such a stand-out and surprisingly fitting send off/last match to their careers. It was the type of scenario where you ''knew'' something was up due to the body language and storytelling showcased in the ring, and it's these subtle aspects which really help make me feel at ease when thinking about how his journey came to an abrupt end.

At least this was how I felt/feel anyway...

I'm starting to think that if Punk is holding out for WWE to realize they need him, he wont be back. If they get serious with a lot of guys they have currently they can build enough stars to cover for Punks' absence. I dont really know all the reasons why he walked out, then again who does, but some of them do seem a little selfish.

Austin-Rock at WM17 was the best of their 3 encounters. The wrestling was great. I mean, Austin pulling out the million dollar dream? Mark out moment.
I have fought some guys that weren't actually there and I beat them so bad they disappeared.

Yeah, their WM17 encounter was definitely the best (IMO), but they do still make for a strong trilogy of matches (despite having a bunch of in-between bouts outside of their main three).

I don't think Austin was talking about his retirement when he was talking about the "worst decision ever", but rather about the time he walked out on the company a year earlier because they wanted to feed him to Lesnar unadvertised on free television. ;)

That opening with the commentators mocking the fans is absolutely disgusting. One of the most vile, reprehensible acts I've seen from WWE, which in this day and age says a lot.

Ah, that's cool then.

I thought it was a bit strange for him to start saying this now. :P

Maybe it was my way of explaining, my fault! I'm almost positive it was when he left for a year that Austin was talking about

WWE has already shown they can move on just fine and maybe Punk leaving is what will end up being the cause of a big Cesaro push...!!!? Not much crowd defiance has helped too (until they get to Chicago, then all bets are off)

The consensus on Punk was he wanted to main event at Mania before he retired. I don't if that was promised to him or not, however, everyone was speculating Punk wouldn't re-up his contract in the summer and move into retirement. To him, this was the year for him to main event at Mania.

If this all is true in fact, why would the WWE keep that promise? There's no incentive in doing so because he's out the door in the summer; never to set foot inside a WWE ring again. The guy they handed a main event spot to is gone and know retired from wrestling...or is he?

WWE thought it was better to have a part-timer in that main event spot rather than a guy who wouldn't be the company at all in near future.

^ Well, putting a part timer in the main event has so far come back to bite them in the ass. Honestly, why WWE would bring in another part timer to main event maina over a guy who's been working for the company for 8-9 years is highly questionable. Of course, every decision that WWE makes is that which is best for the business of WWE, but what happened to respect and decency?

Vince McMahon was asked about CM Punk’s status with the company during Thursday's conference call. This was his reply:

“CM Punk is taking a sabbatical. Let’s just put it that way.”

I'm going to pretend his time off is an eventual storyline. Now its some needed time off to recharge. He has been giving a lot to the company over the past few years.
Plus WWE maybe gave it to him to allow others to shine in the light now. Give folks like DB the front stage alone. (tbh, they are similar in the average fans eyes too - technically superior, not the big guy mold, amazing kicking skills, can go uptop when needed)
Maybe when he comes back, can finally get that big feud with DB to see who the real GOAT/best in the world is.

It has but that's not the point I was making. Putting a part-timer in the main event is better than having a full-timer in it who wasn't going to be with the company after this summer. Bare in mind, i'm looking at this from WWE management side of this...but me personally, I'd rather have Punk in the main event over Batista. No question about it.

Undertaker has already been confirmed to be defending his streak at Wrestlemania xXx.

This is a recent photograph of him.

Well... that is an... unflattering photograph.

Taker looks like he just came out West because "there's gold in them there hills."

Hair dye is clearly a friend he need to be reintroduced to before appearing on camera.
