One thing that still doesn't sit well with me is they now have had Braun back down from someone twice. The first time was leading to the Royal Rumble when he backed down from Lesnar, and then last night when Undertaker came out he and Braun did a stare down before Braun left and ran away. This coming from a man who is always demanding more competition and challenges. They had actually been booking Braun really well and people were getting behind him. Lesnar used to be really fun to watch because he'd get in the ring and wreck people, and that's all Braun had to do as well. Just fuck shit up for entertainment. But it doesn't really work if he looks like a coward to actual competition. The little things matter. |

This is the typical MO in WWE: they push a new guy to see how well the audience takes to him, they build him up to be a tough SOB, put him in a match with a big name, and said big name beats him clean for his first loss in a long time. Then, after the new guy loses, he just spirals down the card with more losses, meaningless matches and feuds, and cringe worthy promo segments. The same thing happened to Rusev, but Rusev has Lana, so he's shielded a bit as a result. Braun wasn't going to be the Universal Champion, but if he continues to be booked like he has prior to the match at Fastlane with Reigns, he'd make a great US champion and a bad ass with any title, be it the WWE title or the Crusierweight title, makes those titles feel like something special. |
