I was considering it, but it's just not feasible this year. I have to take too much time off for the various book signing events and conventions I'm taking part in, and those also cost money, so Wrestlemania just didn't fit into the plans this year. Besides, I've already been to Mania before (23 and 24), and I'm really not too bothered by it anyway, what with the shit prospective card and everything. :P

So now who is going to be Redders' personal guide into the seedy underbelly of American culture? :crossed:

I highly doubt Redders needs a guide at all. He probably knows more about America than TGM does, what with his ability to conjure up stats and facts FROM OUTTA NOWHERE!11!!1 :rko:

Have Static hold Redders hand. He lives closest to Florida besides TGM.

Next time Mania comes to Boston or Indianapolis, I'll be there to host for you guys, but that's unlikely because WWE only seems to do Mania's now in football stadiums down south or in California for the huge crowds and warm weather.

On Sunday night WWE claimed that Seth Rollins likely wouldn’t be able to compete at WrestleMania in April due to a knee injury, but one industry insider says that’s not the case. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins is going to be cleared to wrestle in time for WrestleMania, and says WWE’s claim was just a storyline element. Rollins is recovering from a torn MCL, which WWE is attributing to Samoa Joe’s attack on him earlier this month.

The most-likely WrestleMania opponent for Rollins is currently Triple H. Triple H is advertised to compete in a six-man tag match at the March 11 house show in Toronto, which could be a sign that he’ll be warming up for the April 2nd pay-per-view.

The Big Show was interviewed by Sportingnews.com this week and expressed his frustration that his rumored WrestleMania match against Shaquille O’Neal probably won’t be happening.

Shaq broke the news on his podcast earlier this week that negotiations fell apart. He stated bluntly, “It’s not my fault, that’s all you need to know.”

Big Show has been gearing up for the showdown, getting himself in the best shape of his career. He questions if Shaq got cold feet about stepping in the ring after all his trash talk. Either way, he wants Shaq to own up to the situation, admit he’s scared to fight and move on. He told Sportingnews:

“It is a little frustrating because my contract ends in February 2018. So I don’t know what’s going to happen between now and then. I don’t know if there will be an opportunity for me next year at WrestleMania or not. I don’t know because there’s a lot of new Superstars breaking out and I’ve done my time. This was my perhaps my last opportunity to have a featured match at WrestleMania. And I would have had a good time working with Shaq.

But this is a situation where, obviously, it’s above my paygrade. It’s between Shaq and WWE. Whatever their situation is, who knows. Either that or he say the fact that I was starting to get in really good shape and he got scared and decided that he wants to bail out. It’s real easy to talk about stepping in the ring but once you do actually step in the ring, it takes a lot of courage and mental fortitude to do what we do. I understand the fact that if it’s something that he doesn’t want to do, that he’s scared of, that’s fine but don’t put the blame on me because it isn’t me. Just own up to it and say you’re scared and that’s that.”

Big Show added that he was just talking trash and he has a lot of respect for Shaq. If their match doesn’t wind up happening, he’s in great shape and is confident he can have a role at WrestleMania.

What a crap start to the year for WWE fans so far. I mean, we had a good Rumble ppv and a great Elimination Chamber match this year, but everything else has been bad or meh.

That seems to be the case every year with WWE where it starts off pretty awful, we get hoped up for Mania, Mania comes off as forgettable, and then between Mania and SummerSlam it's great, and then it's back to bad. Now, the brand split has changed that a bit where Smackdown is seemingly unaffected and is always pleasing, but Raw is volatile.

Anyway, as it stands, I have very little interest in Wrestlemania this year. Roman-Taker isn't just bad on paper, it's going to be downright infuriating to think that babyface Roman/Cena 2.0 will go over Taker at Mania. Not saying it's believable for the Old Deadman to beat the younger, tougher opponent, but Roman is just such a waste for Taker to work with. Even Taker has said he's interested in working with AJ Styles or John Cena or Danial Bryan instead.

Goldberg vs Lesnar is likely to be horrible. Sure, Goldberg can still do squash matches like it's 1998, but Goldberg hasn't taken a bump in 13 years. A guy who's likely to get hurt on the first Lesnar suplex is not a match that should be built around, let alone for one of the top two titles in the company.

We're still going to be saddled with HHH and Rollins. I have no interest in Rollins, he needs a change in his character or better yet, needs to go to Smackdown.

I don't know if Shane and AJ Styles is going to happen, if it does smh. This match is just thrown together last minute to get both guys on the card. AJ Styles ought to be in the main event with Orton and Wyatt. Hell, it should be a fatal four way if you ask me with Luke Harper thrown in too.

That probably won't happen, so Orton vs Bray seems to be a fine match and it's been slowly built up to. Now as long as the booking is not shit and the finish isn't fucked up, the match should be good one to watch when it happens.

All the other matches that will be on the card will be fine I'm sure. The Mania undercard will be great while the main event stuff will leave a very bitter taste in the mouth, just like last year's Mania.

It's gonna Reign up in dis bitch.
Knowing WWE, they'll prolly wind up booking Goldberg vs. Lesnar for the 'versal Title as the main event of WM. This wouldn't have happened if Orton didn't RKO me outta nowhere in the Rumble match.

Orton vs Wyatt ain't going on last and neither is Rollins vs HHH, so yeah, you're actually spot on with this.

Fucking Goldberg and Lesnar main eventing Wrestlemania in 2017. There's just no way that that will be the final image of the show. I'm not expecting a surprise match or something after, buy I'd have to imagine that Samoa Joe would show up and lay out the winner with a chair or something to start a title feud.

That, or Undertaker will tell Reigns that it'll be a career vs career match. When you put that type of stipulation on a match, with Undertaker involved, that's the main event.

Lesnar holding the Universal Title to close the show may not be ideal, but I suppose there are worse ways to end the show..
