It's a burial, plain and simple. Vince does not see the money or a long term investment in Bayley. In his mind, he sees her popularity as a temporary thing that isn't going to last and when you only have one women's title and somebody like Sasha Banks or Alexa Bliss on the same show, you can't book a girl to look so strong and not include her in the title match every month. This is the exact same thing that Dolph Ziggler went through the past 4 years. He got a big pop the night after Mania because people were fucking sick of Del Rio and his 3 year long push, Dolph cashed in, and Vince, the luckiest fuck of a man born under the stars, got exactly what he wanted which was a way to cool Ziggler off when he got concussed by Jack Swagger. Constant big loss after big loss turned Dolph into an empty vestment that nobody gave a shit about because they realized that even after years of cheering, buying merch, and other stuff WWE wasn't going to push him and were just using him to get cheap interest in the mid card. Is the Bayley gimmick still going to be hot a year or three from now? Idk, but that's how WWE thinks. Is Bayley going to improve in the ring and on the mic? I hope so, but I don't think her current gimmick will make her improve. Maybe with the way she's being buried, she's going to come up with something else in a while, get the okay to do a heel turn, get over even bigger than as a babyface from that, and become a bigger star. The mistake Ziggler made is that after he got buried the past several years, he never tried changing things up and stuck with the same gimmick that got him buried in the same company that buried him. Ziggler should have done what Cody Rhodes did before Cody Rhodes did it and left, went to Japan or ROH or some other moderately known Indie promotion. |
