I didn't like Smackdown. It had Cena open with the same promo he's been repeating since 2006 and Rusev looks like a pussy. Speaking of pussy, Lana tapped out after a 16 second WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH! How the fuck are we supposed to believe that after Lana did a 8 minute match with Naomi at the last ppv, and then another match last week, that she couldn't last longer with Naomi or that Naomi couldn't cleanly beat Lana in the blink of an eye the last two matches they've had? Fucking awful booking. Chad and Styles was good and I really hope Styles wins the US title so we can see those two go at it for the belt. It'd be Steamboat-Flair 1989 levels of awesome. This Randy Orton-Jinder Mahal feud may be one of the most boring and horribly created feuds I've ever seen. Going back the past 2 months, both guys look like total dweebs as Jinder just says the same thing over and over whining like a bitch while Randy Orton blabbers on about what he's gonna do to Jinder and calls Jinder names. I can forgive Jinder some because he's a heel and heels have to act like heels and talk it, but not walk it, but Randy Orton, The Viper, The Legend Killer, the guy with IED... acts like he's got venom in his veins, but shit for brains. Sure, he'll fuck up Aiden English in a match and get DQ'd, but why the fuck is Orton even bothering with that? He should be spending every 2 hours on Smackdown attempting to murder the Singh Brothers for costing him the belt at Backlash and threatening his father on Father's Day in his hometown during the ppv title match. BUT HE'S NOT! The same guy that once did the rope hung DDT to Stephanie McMahon, who never did anything to him, doesn't have the venom to try and kill the Singh Bros, let alone Jinder Mahal week in and week out. I tell you what, all of 2017 for Randy Orton has been out of character for who Orton is and beyond gimmicks, his matches have been lackluster. Besides the Mania match and House of Horrors debacle, I can't name a match Orton's impressed in all year long and the Rumble doesn't count. I'm not sure who get the 2017 mid year award for Most Overrated wrestler, but Orton is close to the top, along with Goldberg, Wyatt, and Mahal. I saw one segment with Shinsuke Nakamura getting hit with the MitB case and that lasted all of one minute. Shinsuke should not be a one minute sideshow. Battle Royal ended the show and it's not like it was even a good one. Winner was going to be Styles, I knew that from the start. I didn't watch the Rap Off with the Uso's and New Day. I actually fell asleep before it started, so no comment on that. Just a bad Smackdown, probably the worst one I've seen all year long. |
