SmackDown Preview: October 31, 2017

SmackDown’s squad for Survivor Series will begin to take shape this Tuesday, as two huge qualifying matches will take place. Bobby Roode will square off against Dolph Ziggler in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match, and Shinsuke Nakamura will take on Kevin Owens. Who will join Randy Orton on Team SmackDown for a showdown with Raw at Survivor Series?

Shinsuke Nakamura battles Kevin Owens for the right to join Team SmackDown.

A highly-coveted spot on Team SmackDown will be up for grabs in a battle between Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens. There is no love lost between the two Superstars, whose rivalry dates back to before their time in WWE. WWE’s Rockstar emerged victorious in a thrilling bout the last time he collided with KO on SmackDown LIVE.

Will Owens even the score and turn Team SmackDown into Team Kevin, or will Nakamura show that he is worthy of representing Team Blue in a showdown with Raw at Survivor Series?

AJ Styles takes on Samir Singh.

Last Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE, Sunil Singh attempted to defend the honor of WWE Champion Jinder Mahal by clashing with AJ Styles. Despite The Modern Day Maharaja’s best efforts to interfere in the bout, Sunil was bulldozed by The Phenomenal One after Mahal was ejected from ringside.

However, where Sunil failed, his brother is promising to succeed. After Sunil’s loss, Samir stepped up and declared that he would battle in Mahal’s honor this week against Styles. Will The Phenomenal One subject Samir to the same punishment his brother faced, or can Samir make the WWE Champion proud?

Bobby Roode squares off with Dolph Ziggler in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.

Another spot on Team SmackDown for Survivor Series will be up for grabs when Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler lock horns in a 2-out-of 3 Falls Match. The rivalry between these two Superstars has grown extremely heated, featuring blindside attacks, harsh words and dirty tactics.

Now, the two will meet in a battle that will test their endurance. Will Roode go on to make Team SmackDown glorious, or will Ziggler prove that his rival is nothing more than a flash in the pan?

Breezango enter The Upside Down in “Strangerer Things”.

Tyler Breeze & Fandango have been on the hunt for their missing briefcase in recent weeks, but on Halloween, The Fashion Police’s investigation promises to get stranger…er.

The latest edition of The Fashion Files, “Strangerer Things,” is sure to turn Breezango’s latest case upside down. What will happen when SmackDown LIVE’s resident gumshoes are on the case? Cook up some Eggo waffles and find out!

Sin Cara demands a rematch with Baron Corbin.

Last week on SmackDown LIVE, Sin Cara defeated United States Champion Baron Corbin in non-title action for the second straight week. However, this time, it was by disqualification after Corbin pummeled the masked man in the corner and refused to let up after the official’s five-count.

The ambush continued on the arena floor, where The Lone Wolf planted Sin Cara with the devastating End of Days. WWE.com has learned that Sin Cara is demanding a rematch to settle the score with the United States Champion. What will happen when these two rivals clash again?

Find out tonight on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!

Raw and SDLive are tape delayed next week due to a European tour, so enjoy what little you can watching a live SD tonight.

And yeah, I'm not gonna be posting during Raw/SD next week. I cannot stand the tape delayed shows and have largely always skipped them.

There's a lapse in my contract so I'm not required to watch Smackdown tonight. Someone (although probably no one) will have to watch in my place and make sure T-Unit isn't too scared by all the Halloween imagery on tonight's show.

How can Smackdown not be looked at like the inferior brand?

Idk Shane, maybe that whole Jinder Mahal as WWE champion thing?

I watched this week's Smackdown and it's like I didn't miss anything. It was practically a cut and paste job from the week before with minor changes so it wasn't exactly the same. The show is in a total holding pattern until Survivor Series.

One thing that did stick out was Renee interviewed Sin Cara backstage and because of his mask his voice was so muffled I didn't understand a word he said. Why do this? If his mask prohibits him from speaking clearly either change it or don't make him cut promos.

SmackDown Preview: November 7, 2017

After defeating both Singh Brothers in consecutive weeks, AJ Styles was the victim of a heinous attack at the hands of WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. As a result, Commissioner Shane McMahon has declared that The Modern Day Maharaja will defend his title against The Phenomenal One tonight on SmackDown LIVE in Manchester, England. Who will leave the U.K. with Team Blue’s top prize?

AJ Styles to challenge WWE Champion Jinder Mahal tonight on SmackDown LIVE.

AJ Styles will challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship tonight on SmackDown LIVE from Manchester, England, in a bout that has major Survivor Series implications. SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon made the announcement on Twitter Thursday afternoon, as a result of Mahal’s savage attack on Styles this last Tuesday.

The Phenomenal One has made it clear for several weeks that Mahal and the WWE Title are in his sights, but The Modern Day Maharaja retaliated by saying that there is no worthy competition on SmackDown LIVE. Mahal has instead been laser-focused on his upcoming Champion vs. Champion bout with Raw’s Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. That slight has not sat well with Styles, who has physically gone after the WWE Champion on several occasions.

Instead of stepping into the ring with The Phenomenal One, Mahal sent his charges, The Singh Brothers, into battle with Styles to defend his honor. To send a message to The Modern Day Maharaja, Styles dispatched of both Samir and Sunil Singh in quick, brutal fashion. However, after Styles’ victory over Samir last Tuesday, Mahal blindsided The Phenomenal One, brutalizing him in a vicious attack at ringside before planting him into the canvas with the devastating Khallas.

Mahal has been set on proving that he is the “beastmaster” and the top champion in all of WWE, but his Survivor Series showdown with The Beast could be in jeopardy if Styles dethrones him.

What will happen in this monumental WWE Championship Match? Tune in to SmackDown LIVE tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network to find out!

Becky Lynch to face James Ellsworth tonight on SmackDown LIVE.

After a heated exchange on Twitter, Becky Lynch will battle James Ellsworth tonight on SmackDown LIVE in Manchester, England.

The tiff began when Ellsworth took to social media to call Lynch’s captaincy of the SmackDown Women’s Survivor Series team into question. The Irish Lass Kicker, having defeated The Princess of Staten Island and three other SmackDown Superstars to earn the captaincy, took exception and told Carmella to keep her pet in check. Lynch even issued a challenge to Carmella, offering a chance for Ms. Money in the Bank to prove herself. Carmella, however, declined, offering up an interesting proposition. Never one to shy away from competition, Becky happily accepted the challenge.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos defend against Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable.

The newest rivalry in SmackDown’s Tag Team division finally hits the ring Tuesday in England, as The Usos defend their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against the tandem of Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable.

After winning a Fatal 4-Way Match to earn a future title opportunity, the mat wrestling masters almost immediately set out to get under the champions’ skin. Benjamin & Gable initially approached Jimmy & Jey in what appeared to be a handshake offering of sportsmanship ahead of their title match, only to pull their hands away at the last second. The challengers continued antagonizing the champions two weeks later, revealing that their title match would take place this Tuesday in Manchester.

The Usos have had their sights set on Survivor Series and their Champions vs. Champions showdown with the Raw Tag Team Champions. Before they can focus on a battle with new titleholders Cesaro & Sheamus, however, Jimmy & Jey must get through Benjamin & Gable. Who will move on to Houston?

Will Raw retaliate for The New Day’s raid?

The latest salvo in the battle for brand supremacy was launched on Monday night when The New Day raided Raw. Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods made their presence felt in Manchester when they interfered in the main event – a Raw Tag Team Title Match between champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose and Cesaro & Sheamus.

Just as the bout was reaching a thrilling apex, The New Day entered through crowd to berate The Bar, the Shield brothers and the rest of the Raw roster for their lack of response to #UnderSiege. This time, however, Team Red rushed to ringside to chase off the invaders. But the fray proved to be a distraction for Rollins, who turned around into a devastating Brogue Kick from Sheamus that led to The Bar leaving Manchester as the new Raw Tag Team Champions.

With tensions rising between the two brands as Survivor Series approaches, will Raw be out for retribution when SmackDown comes to Manchester?
Oh yes, it's true it's true!
