 SmackDown Preview: December 12, 2017 With five nights remaining before WWE Clash of Champions, tonight’s SmackDown LIVE is sure to be intense. Prior to Sunday’s battle for his and Sami Zayn’s WWE careers, Kevin Owens must step inside the ring with Shinsuke Nakamura. Plus, WWE Champion AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal come face-to-face just days before their championship showdown in Boston. What will happen during an action-packed edition of SmackDown LIVE? Tune into USA Network tonight at 8/7 C to find out! Shinsuke Nakamura clashes with Kevin Owens this Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE. The fate of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will be decided during a tag team battle against Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura at WWE Clash of Champions, as the troublesome duo’s careers in all of WWE will be on the line. But before the huge showdown in Boston, KO will have to step inside the squared circle with The King of Strong Style on this Tuesday’s edition of SmackDown LIVE, with Zayn and Orton in their partner’s respective corners. After Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan forced Owens to be handcuffed to the ring rope to prevent him from interfering in Orton and Zayn’s match this past Tuesday, KO used bolt cutters to escape and subsequently unleash a vicious attack on The Viper, with a little help from his best friend. The assault was thwarted thanks to the Nakamura, who burst onto the scene and clobbered KO and Zayn with thunderous Kinshasa knee strikes. What will happen when these two rivals lock horns? WWE Champion AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal come face to face tonight. WWE Champion AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal are on a collision course set for WWE Clash of Champions. However, the bitter rivals will come face to face one last time before their battle in Boston tonight on SmackDown LIVE. Mahal has been in a rage since his WWE Title reign came to an end in Manchester, England last month at the hands of The Phenomenal One. The Modern Day Maharaja unleashed his fury on Styles last week, blindsiding the champion before he was set to take on Mahal’s associates, The Singh Brothers, in a Handicap Match. Despite the attack, Samir & Sunil were no match for the victorious Styles, who even booted Mahal in the face when he tried to interfere. Will these two Superstars be able to meet face to face without coming to blows? What will happen as this combustible rivalry nears its boiling point? The Riott Squad battle Carmella, Tamina & Lana. All six Superstars will be at ringside for the SmackDown Women’s Championship Match this Sunday, serving as Lumberjacks for the title bout between Charlotte Flair and Natalya.Before their focus turns to keeping those two competitors inside the ring, however, The Riott Squad and Carmella, Tamina & Lana will have the opportunity to unleash their fury on each other. All six women are upset at being left out of the title picture and confronted Smackdown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan about it last week, leading to the announcement of the Lumberjack Match for the title. Yet, with tensions running high throughout Team Blue’s Women’s division, this match has been made in hopes that the tension won’t spill over into the title bout. What will happen when these two trios clash on SmackDown LIVE? The Usos take on Rusev & Aiden English. Last Tuesday, Rusev & Aiden English turned the SmackDown LIVE Tag Team division on its head after defeating The New Day and being added into the SmackDown Tag Team Title Match at WWE Clash of Champions. This week, the pair will get the chance to rack up another big win ahead of the Fatal 4-Way Match for the titles when they take on the reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Usos. Will this Rusev Day be filled with elation for The Bulgarian Brute and the bard of Team Blue? Or will their holiday be spent on lockdown in the Uso Penitentiary? Breezango pay tribute to The Acension in A Very Special Fashion Files. That's exactly why I said I'm probably gonna skip it. The only match on the card that looks remotely interesting and not bound to be a Dusty or fuck finish is the Fatal 4 Way tag team match. The rest of the card is dreadful. AJ vs Jinder? I have yet to see any Jinder match that was worth being for the WWE title. I don't care to watch it and if Vince puts the belt back on Jinder, I'll feel ripped off. Ziggler/Corbin/Roode? Ziggler's only in it to take the fall. It's a cheap cop out that WWE is using way too frequently, especially considering that the same thing will happen during the Lesnar/Kane/Braun match at the Rumble in a month. The match may be decent, but I just don't give a shit about it, mostly because it involves Ziggler. Charlotte and Nattie has been a boring feud and they've had bad matches before. The lumberjack stipulation was stupid and it shows that they have no idea what to do with the women if they're not in a title feud. The liklihood is the lumberjacks will degenerate into a brawl outside the ring, Charlotte will pull out a win, and Carmella will cash in during the chaos. And finally we get Shane right in the middle of a match with Owens and Zayn against Orton and Directionless Nakamura, which is going to involve Bryan in some capacity, probably him counting the three after Shane gets KO'd by KO. It pisses me off to know that WWE is using Nakamura, Orton, Zayn, and Owens as pawns in the build for the Shane and Bryan match at Wrestlemania. And we'll probably get a Mojo vs Zach Ryder match somewhere that, again, I don't give a crap about. |

so, yeah, I'm not missing anything interesting or definitive or that makes the wrestlers out to be larger than life stars that I want to see. It's just typical WWE plot development for more generic WWE television that I don't care about. What's Shane gonna do to Bryan after he counts the three for Owens/Zayn? Shane gonna fire him as GM? GOOD! Then maybe I'll finally get to see Bryan wrestle again. Corbin's gonna pin Ziggler, then Roode can say he never pinned him and so he should get another title match? WTF? Why not just do the Corbin vs Roode match at CoC then and make Ziggler the Special Guest Ring Announcer or Special Guest Concessions Associate? Because WWE needs to fill time because they make way too much television now. The phrase Less is More applies perfectly to wrestling.
