Ronda came out and I think she challenged Asuka, Charlotte, and Alexa at Mania. So, it's gonna be a fatal 4 way match and the winner gets both belts and to be GM of Raw. Edited by T-Unit, Jan 29 2018, 12:16:21 AM.

Well she didn't exactly come out to point at the sign as a means to translate to Asuka what winning the Rumble meant. |

I'm definitely pleased with tonight's results. Both rumbles delivered where it really counted, and most importantly WWE have managed to get me invested in their product again. I can't wait to see what transpires in the coming months! |

I wouldn't go that far to say their product is back because Raw is still three hours of general sucktitude. What happened tonight is Shinsuke finally got saved from the midcard and the women, THE WOMEN, saved the Royal Rumble match from becoming just another poorly booked piece of crap that was becoming irrelevant. The women just saved WWE's second biggest event of the year for a long time to come. The booking was good, the performances, especially Sasha, Asuka, Trish, was superb. Now next year, I'll probably want to watch the women's Rumble again with great anticipation and I say that because I don't think that the women's Rumble is ever going to suffer from the usual bullshit that infects the men's Rumbles with only having a small group of people possibly winning who people have seen enough of already. There are at least 10 women who could conceivably have won the Rumble this year and I don't think people would have been upset. Hell, even if one of the jobber girls had won I don't think people would have been upset because it's just more fun to watch a less tightly controlled group like the women do a Rumble match. |

But yeah, I can definitely say that the Rumble matches came through and left me feeling good. The WWE title match, while well worked, just didn't have me interested because of the stipulation. The Lesnar match was just a generic multiman Brock match that was probably the worst match I've seen him do in years, and the tag matches just sucked. Idk how the Uso's and Benjamin-Gable could go from having decently hot matches on Smackdown to a complete shit show on a Rumble ppv. The Rumbles were the only things that delivered and not just well, but extremely well. Even if Roman had won, it would have been fine because the match was well put together. The women's Rumble was the MOTN. The choices of who was in it was great, but the placement of them was great. Leaving Trish last left people wondering whether it was going to be her or Ronda, getting Lita and the Riott Squad and Absolution girls in early was a good choice, I liked that Ruby Riott lasted a while because she is the leader and has to lead by example, I liked a lot of the match, but I can say there were some meh parts to it. While the Bellas did fine in their roles, I would have rather liked seeing girls like Becky and Mickie and Bayley go deeper into the Rumble because they are there every week. The Bellas, given their high profile husbands, get the end spots where there's more focus on them. They truly embody the Diva persona. Kelly Kelly looks great, but she still can't do fuck all in the ring. Torrie Wilson is better than her and Torrie hasn't been in a match in almost a decade, but Kelly Kelly is only a few years removed from her time in WWE and she can't work as well as Torrie can. There's just something not there with her and I hope we do not see as much of her going forward. Given her age though, I imagine we will. Torrie could be a hell of a part timer and I think if she was involved in matches with a Sasha, Asuka, Becky, Charlotte... she could be carried and make both girls look good. If you put Kelly in that spot, she'd be just as poor as she always has been. The rest of the legends... great to see them. I think Trish and Beth Phoenix can still go, but the rest are past their prime. Lita, you could tell with the way she dressed, had a bandanna covering her ass, and how she was moving that she is not in shape and she scared the shit out of me with that moonsault because she was a few inches from probably a broken neck and dying. Thank God that didn't happen or we might never have gotten another women's Rumble. With all the injuries and wear on her body it's shown its effects on her at 43. I think she can go back to retirement and stay there because she proved that she does still have some of it, but there's no reason to prove it anymore. She's still fucking hot though. The same applies to Trish, nothing left to prove, but I think someone like Torrie though, who was probably in the best shape of all the women besides maybe Sonya and Ruby Riott, could come back and not just get by in the ring, but return and prove that she can wrestle and be improved from where she was in the ring 10+ years ago. Beth is another one who could really gain from returning today not because she couldn't work, but because the women aren't an afterthought anymore and they're given longer than 5 minutes to do a match. I remember a hardcore match that Beth and I think McCool did at an Extreme Rules ppv and for the few minutes it was given, it was awesome. You put Beth in a 15 minute title match with Charlotte or Sasha? Dude... that would be a MOTN contender. I think that this ppv didn't just save the Rumble, but I think that it's going to open a lot of the former Divas eyes who haven't been in the company for years that WWE is serious this time and while some of them have have children and are nearing 40 that their opportunity is there and it's their last time to shine. I really hope Beth and Torrie come back. |
