It seems that they're hinting at 30 women for the rumble. IMO, this is too many. I feel that 20 is the perfect number. If you stretch it to 30, it'll be littered with NXT call-ups, less than exciting "surprises", etc. |

It has been announced now it's going to be 30. I would agree that seems like a bit much as the women's divisions on both Raw and Smackdown aren't that large. So yeah, like you said it will be NXT call-ups or reappearances of women from the Mae Young tournament. The issue with that is will they be viewed as special surprise entrants or seen as 'who are you?' moments? My guess is they went with the 30 entrants so it wouldn't seem less than the men's rumble, but 20 women total would have been better I think. |

I think both should be reduced to 20 tbh. |

I understand you're logic with the men's being reduced to 20, but I like the number at 30 because it allows some developmental talents to be used as "fodder" without it affecting their reputation. I don't want to see midcarders like Roode get thrown over quickly, but I could care less if someone like Slater or Ryder is gone within a minute. The problem with 30 women in the rumble is that I think it will make the "surprise" entrants (whether they be returning legends or NXT callups) feel less special, and they might in fact end up getting a greater focus than the current, active members of the women's roster. 20. A 30 man Rumble adds something close to 15 minutes to the match with the time between entrants and total number of people it adds to be eliminated. With 30 women, the entire segment on the ppv from first entrances to the very final cut is going to be an hour or more when it really needs to be around 40 minutes to stay hot. With 30, unless they have a plan, it's going to get slow and boring and full of filler. I would have to believe that the reason they made it 30 is to look equal to the men and so they could have room to include legends, Hall of Famers, and special entrants (Rousey). |

I dunno if Rousey will be in it. They can't have both Ronda and Asuka in the same match and have one of them lose. |

Getting thrown over the top is a fluky thing anyway. Hell, even Austin legit was eliminated in the 96 Rumble and he was supposed to be in the final four. Asuka winning puts her over more, Ronda doesn't need a rub, she's the most well known female MMA fighter. |
