That NXT title match is the best NXT match I think I've ever seen. It was even better than the Sasha and Bayley match at the first Brooklyn Takeover show. That thing was a 30 minute classic. |

I think I have to agree with you. Ever since she debuted, I've just never really gotten into her. All she is is an entrance, some colored contact lenses, and a cool finisher. Beyond that, I cannot remember a single promo she's ever given and I can't think as to why I'm supposed to like her. She couldn't beat Asuka, who has more charisma in her thumb than Ember has in her entire body. The only thing Ember has going for herself is she's hot and has nice, smooth skin. |

I watched the whole show, here's my thoughts: -I think it's time to bring up AoP. I don't see much else left for them to do in NXT and there are a bunch of great tag teams on Raw/SD that could use a fresh feud. -Velveteen Dream is going to win the NXT title this year. -As said, I don't get Ember Moon. She's a decent worker, has a dynamite finisher, but everything else is subpar. Unless something changes with her, when she goes to WWE, she's going to get Emma'd. Raw/SD already has a bunch of babyface women who are more popular than she is and other than a tag team with Naomi, I don't see Ember getting much attention. I see her getting the same reactions Emma did when she first went to Raw with the stupid dancing gimmick. Shayna, OTOH, she's everything WWE needs in their women's roster. She's a bad ass, she can kick everyone's ass, and if it wasn't for pinfall victory stipulations, she'd win every match. Shayna can submit anyone, won't tap out to anyone, and I can't wait to see her full time in WWE working with Sasha, Charlotte, Becky, Asuka, and others. She may not be as pretty as a lot of the other women, but being an ass kicking broad is sexy in its own right. When I watch Shayna, it's like I'm watching Brock Lesnar from 2002 all over again. Sure, she's lost more matches than she's won, but never in any of her matches does she look inferior to her opponent. -Black and Cole were alright. It was a solid match, I expected nothing less. -Gargano and Almas was the MOTN and probably the MOTY and possibly the greatest NXT match ever. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was, but both those guys put together a damn masterpiece and I didn't think either of them had it in them. I hope we can get a cage match or something between these two because I don't want this to be the only match these two guys have against each other in NXT. Edited by T-Unit, Jan 28 2018, 12:27:48 AM.

Almas and Gargano have fought 2 other times. One was at Takerover: Brooklyn III. It was an excellent match. |

It seems Dave Meltzer must have been very impressed with the match between Andrade "Cien" Almas & Johnny Gargano, as it turns out he's given it a rating of five stars. I think that might be the first one the company has received from him since CM Punk vs. John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011. Personally, numbered ratings don't really mean anything to me, since it doesn't actually tell me any information about why an individual may have liked or disliked something. It's just so much more satisfying to be given some kind of explanation, whether it be through speech or writing, because at least then I'm given the opportunity to try and understand different viewpoints. So even if I disagreed with somebody else's opinion, chances are I could still appreciate where they were coming from, or be given a clearer idea about why an individual may feel that way (hence why I prefer to listen to Meltzer's podcasts). Anywho, I thought others might be interested in this news. |
