If you include the pre-show matches, this number was 82. - The first ever Women's Royal Rumble Match was the first time a Women's match main evented a "Big Four" PPV, and only the second time in WWE history for any PPV. - This event marked the WWE PPV debuts of: Adam Cole (Bay Bay), Andrade "Cien" Almas, Ember Moon, Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan (in a match), Mandy Rose, Ruby Riott (in a match), Sarah Logan (in a match) & Sonya Deville - the most debuts in a single PPV ever. - It also marked returns for: Beth Phoenix (vs. AJ Lee, October 2012), Brie Bella (WM32 Pre-Show), The Hurricane (6-Man Tag on ECW, Jan 2010), Jacqueline (vs. Chavo Guerrero, Judgment Day 2004), Kelly Kelly (vs. Eve Torres, August 2012), Lita (vs. Heath Slater, Raw 1000), Michelle McCool (vs. Layla, Extreme Rules 2011), Molly Holly (Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal, WM25), Nikki Bella (Intergender Tag, WM33), Rey Mysterio (vs. Bad News Barrett, Raw After Mania XXX), Torrie Wilson (Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal, WM25), Trish Stratus (Intergender Tag, Raw After Mania 27) & Vickie Guerrero (vs. Stephanie McMahon, June 2014). - Beth Phoenix became the first person to enter both the Men's & Women's Royal Rumble in her career (having entered the 2010 Rumble). - Vickie Guerrero holds the record for shortest time spent in a Women's Royal Rumble, lasting just 57 seconds. - Michelle McCool holds the record for most eliminations by a woman in the Royal Rumble, having eliminated 5 from the Women's event this year. - While 9 men lasted 20 minutes or more in this year's Rumble, only three women did the same in their respective match: Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch & Natalya. - Carmella gets the dubious honour of the "Sami Zayn" record of lasting the longest without eliminating a single opponent, at 18:45. - Speaking of dubious honours, the first elimination from a Women's Royal Rumble was Mandy Rose. - The second elimination, Tamina, takes the record for the 900th overall elimination from a Royal Rumble match. - Despite being the #1 entrant, Sasha Banks didn't eliminate anyone until Vickie Guerrero at #16. - For the first time ever, the number 14 entry won the Men's Royal Rumble match, made even more interesting for the folklore "curse" the number has had this millennium. - It also marks the earliest winning entrant since the 2009 Royal Rumble (Orton won from #8). Between these years, all winners came from #19 or higher. - For the fifth year in-a-row (and the fifth time in his career), Roman Reigns was one of the final three entrants in the Royal Rumble Match. - Reigns also became the first person to have been the final elimination in three different Royal Rumble matches. - Goldust joins Shawn Michaels & Big Show in being joint 2nd for most Royal Rumble appearances, with 12. The Miz & Kofi Kingston join Undertaker for 3rd on the list with 11. - Seth Rollins, Cesaro & Sheamus became the first people to compete in a match after competing in a Royal Rumble match on the same card. - Andrade "Cien" Almas became the first reigning NXT Champion to compete in the Royal Rumble match. - Although he didn't compete, Kane's debut Royal Rumble appearance was 20 years ago. In this time, he's only won one match at the event - a Tag Team Championship match in 2013 as part of Team Hell No. - AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship in a handicap match against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. The last time this kind of match happened was 11 years ago, when Triple H had to face both Randy Orton & Umaga. - Styles also broke a trend, where a title change had occurred in the last 4 handicap championship matches in WWE. - This was the first regular WWE Championship title opportunity for both Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. Their only other previous shot was the 2016 Royal Rumble match. Elimination Chamber Updates - This PPV featured the first ever Womens Elimination Chamber match, which Alexa Bliss won. - Mandy Rose gets another dubious honour, as the first woman to be eliminated from the first ever Womens Elimination Chamber match (to go with the first elimination from the first Womens Royal Rumble just a month prior). - For the men, this was the first to feature seven participants. - Braun Strowman set a new record for most eliminations in a single Chamber match, eliminating five out of a possible six entrants. - Combined with his gauntlet match performance just six days prior, Rollins spent the longest in the Chamber match at 36 minutes, 33 seconds. Added to the gauntlet total, this meant Rollins spent over 100 minutes in the ring in televised matches in just 6 days. - Strowman's elimination marks only the third time he's been pinned in WWE since his debut almost three years ago. One of those other two times was also by Roman Reigns in February. - This was only Apollo's 2nd Championship opportunity on PPV in his WWE career. His previous was an Intercontinental Championship match against The Miz at SummerSlam 2016. WWE Fastlane Updates - Randy Orton became the 10th WWE Grand Slam Champion of the modern era with his United States Championship victory over Bobby Roode. WrestleMania 34 Updates - The Undertaker achieved his 100th PPV win, making him the first man to achieve this record. - Undertaker's victory against John Cena was the quickest match in the Deadman's WrestleMania history. His previous shortest was beating Jimmy Snuka in his debut WrestleMania in 4:20. - This was Daniel Bryan's first wrestling match in almost three years (his previous was a tag match with Cena vs. Cesaro & Tyson Kidd on an episode of SmackDown in April 2015). - Seth Rollins became the 11th Grand Slam Champion of the modern era, winning the Intercontinental Championship to complete his set. - Asuka suffered her first fall loss in WWE, when she submitted to Charlotte Flair. She has still yet to be pinned. - Ronda Rousey had her WWE debut match at this event. - Stephanie McMahon had her first WrestleMania match at this event. - Triple H losing was his 13th at WrestleMania - a new record. - Nia Jax became the Raw Women's Champion; her first title in her wrestling career. - The Bludgeon Brothers winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship was the first time in over a year someone other than either The Usos or The New Day held those titles. - The Usos competed on the main card of WrestleMania for the first time in their career. They debuted for WWE in 2010. - By winning the Raw Tag Team Championship, Nicholas became the youngest title holder in WWE history at just 10 years old. It beats a record set in 2003 (before Nicholas was born) by Rene Dupree, who won the World Tag Team Championship aged 19. Greatest Royal Rumble Updates - This PPV was the first to feature Arabic commentary. - This is also the first PPV in WWE history to take place on a Friday, thus meaning the company has now held a PPV on every single day of the week. - The Greatest Royal Rumble show featured 74 different wrestlers competing - surpassing the previous record of 70 set by this year's Royal Rumble just three months prior. - This Royal Rumble featured the most participants in the match's history, with 50 entrants. - Braun Strowman eliminated 13 people, surpassing Roman Reigns' previous record of 12 set in the 2014 Rumble match. - Daniel Bryan set a new record for the longest time spent in a single Rumble match at 1:16:05, 13:50 longer than the previous record (Rey Mysterio, 2006). - Tony Nese, Dash Wilder, Scott Dawson, Drew Gulak, Tucker Knight & Roderick Strong all made their WWE PPV debuts. - The other two NXT entrants, Babatunde & Dan Matha, both had their first televised match in the company. While Matha was scheduled to have one well over a year ago, he was assaulted by Samoa Joe before his match could take place. - Hiroki Sumi also had his first televised WWE match, but is not signed to the company. - Shawn Daivari (formerly Khosrow Daivari) made his first WWE appearance since October 2007. - The Rumble match also featured the returns of Hornswoggle (15-person tag match, SmackDown 15 (2014)), The Great Khali (vs. Rusev, October 2014) and - on PPV - Bobby Lashley (The Great American Bash, 2008). - Goldust entered his 13th Royal Rumble match, putting him 2nd on the all-time list behind Kane. - With Undertaker defeating Rusev, this is the first time the Deadman has won at back-to-back PPV events since TLC 2009/Royal Rumble 2010. - No defending champion lost their title. - Brock Lesnar remains undefeated in Steel Cage matches in his WWE career. - John Cena won his first PPV match since SummerSlam of last year, ending a streak of 6 consecutive losses. That win, against Baron Corbin, also came in the show's opening match. Misc. Updates - On January 26th, the WWE Championship reached its 20,000th day of activity. - By winning the Raw Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble, Cesaro became the first man to win the title on five separate occasions (4 with Sheamus, once with Tyson Kidd). - The fourth reign for The Bar also means they collectively have more reigns with the Raw Tag Team Championship than any other team, having surpassed MNM & The Corre (Slater/Gabriel) in doing so (both teams on three). - On February 19th, Raw set a record for the longest WWE match of all time. The 7-man Gauntlet Match went on for 1 hour, 46 minutes and 55 seconds, surpassing Bruno Sammartino vs. Waldo Von Erich's record from August 1964 of 81 minutes - fifty four years ago! - In the same match, Seth Rollins competed for 65 minutes - the longest single performance in Raw's history. - As of February 25th, The Usos became the longest running tag team in WWE history to not leave the company/get broken up. - On 4th April, Carmella became the individual to hold the Money in the Bank briefcase the longest, surpassing Edge who held the very first MITB for 280 days. She would go on to eventually cash it in one week later, having held the briefcase for 287 days. Edited by Redders, Jun 9 2018, 04:22:36 PM.

I think this is going to be the rarest accomplishment ever because I don't see them ever putting another female in the rumble with the men again. Unless Kharma comes back to join a women's rumble Beth is gonna be all alone. |
