WWE's starting the push to get me to renew my subscription to the Network.

This seems to me to be a huge moment for WWE and the future of the Network.

Personally, as things currently stand, I have no intention of renewing. Barring some kind of incredible improvement in WWE or the Network, I will pass up on an immediate renewal and try to jump back in come the Rumble, unless WWE nails it with a PPV in that time frame.

I won't be gone forever, that much is practically guaranteed, but WWE has to give me a reason to keep or come back to the Network. The current status quo on both the Network and WWE itself leaves me thinking I can find better uses for my $10 a month.

Last week, it was announced that WWE hit 700,000 subscribers since the WWE Network launched in February, an increase of just 33,000 since the last total in April.

Also, WWE lost $14.5 million in the second quarter and will lay off seven percent of its staff.

I guess those promos worked??
Only $9.99 a month?

The ONE time I use the Network in months with a clear plan in mind of what match I'm going to watch...and it won't load. :(

The match was Cena vs. Punk at Night of Champions, btw. Never seen it and I needed a little heel Punk in my life.

As phenomenal as that was, I'm looking for something I've never seen before while I still have the Network. And I'm pretty sure someone in WWEv actually had their sig a GIF of Punk running onto the stage dressed as Jeff Hardy in that stupid makeup that I would sit and watch over and over and over again.

However, now that I mention it, I'm going to go look that up because holy shit that was funny.

Just make sure you mentally prepare yourself for this.

I really want to say that was me. I was never a bigger Punk fan than I was during that timeframe.

Punk-Hardy and Jericho-Mysterio were what brought me back to wrestling in 2009.

Anyone else having problems loading Video on Demand stuff?

Like, it won't load at all for me. Even the "TV PG/TV 14" screen won't load.

I never watch the Network on the computer, it seems to play the slowest on there.

This Shield documentary on Wednesday is going to be badass. Hopefully it's like the one they did for D-Bry after Mania.

Ya know, it's hard for me to imagine becoming a bigger fan of the former Shield than I already am... WWE's special pulled that off. My only complaint is that they couldn't have put some of that into a special to air BEFORE Summerslam.

A few thoughts:

I hold to the belief that Triple H LOVES the Shield. That bodes well for them. I get the impression he looks on them like a proud father.

When it comes to wrestling and talent, I will commit every word Paul Heyman says to heart.

While the special doesn't seem to be interested in bullshitting us for kayfabe's sake, they do a nice job of weaving Seth Rollins attitude into the narrative, which plays nicely in to back up his betrayal of the Shield.

I hope WWE does produce a Shield DVD before too long. While this special was great, I think there is plenty of material left to look at to make for a solid DVD doc. I would love to hear more about The Shield when they were together and recapping some of the great matches they had and backstory of the Shield's evolution. I'd also like more insight in to how their post-Shield evolutions have been influenced (if for some other reason to hear somebody try and defend their music).

ROH and DGUSA get a lot of props, again, from WWE and the stars for their roles in discovering this talent. While ROH may not have had the cultural impact on wrestling that ECW had, it seems to be playing out that it has just as much, if not more of an eye for talent.

It can't be much longer before Zayn's on the roster. I just hope they have plans for him.

As with pretty much the entirety of the Shield's run and the present, it's clear the WWE is making goo-goo eyes at Reigns, but Dean Ambrose is the god of this special.

My favorite part of the special though is the way they chronicled the training Seth and Dean were doing for their matches.

Seth Rollins goes through his insane looking work out routine that wears me out just watching him.

Dean Ambrose RUNS OUT INTO THE WILDERNESS to train!
